What a blessing they have! I would rather see parents buying tons of books and reading them to their kids then tons of toys. Books are way better and teaches them to grow up loving to read especially if they see parents reading books themselves and to them. I loved looking after little ones and I loved reading to them, haveing them snuggling beside you and looking at the pictures and loving what was being read to them. Going to the library and picking out books together and bringing them home. One little boy I looked after his mom and I had decided that he wouldn't get candy at grocery store, instead they had the Franklin books and so we bought those instead, one book at a time and which one should we get this time? He loved it tons and tons. One mom I worked for, I loved her idea at easter instead of huge amount of candy which isn't good she bought the wooden train tracks for her two boys and hid them just like you would the eggs or candy and they loved them. Christmas the same mom bought books and they had some really good books, well worth buying books. Keep it up and read tons to your kids and also yourselves too.

I, of course, had heard a lot of references to Facebook. They all pertained to how great it was to reconnect with friends and family. I didn't know there were "hidden" mysteries that came with it. So I joined up, and right away found some relatives that would be good to hear from. I began to realize I was also gaining "friends" I never heard of. I have no idea who most of those friends are. As I said before, I think Facebook should come with a tutorial. A lot of the terms are not self-explanatory. I googled and learned a few tid-bits here and there. One was the use of the Hide button, but that only works on the Home page, not the page of a Friend. So there is no way to my knowledge to remove something from another's page. Seems like there should be, it is MY Facebook. Anyway, I have gone in and removed every name except my nieces and nephews. I left X, because I don't have the heart to delete him. I know that if he did do the quiz, and doesn't want to admit it after seeing the result, that he had no idea what would have come of taking the quiz. And that the "F" word would be blasted on that page in BIG red letters on a black background. Facebook should be ashamed. I didn't join Facebook looking for games to play or quizzes to take. My purpose was to locate and reconnect with family. For that I think Facebook will be fine. It is much better than emailing. If anything similar happens again, I will give it up completely. Gmail (free! sign up at Google) has a great chat feature too. The managers here at work all use it to chat throughout the day! Everyone thinks we are working hard, typing away at our computers. Mostly we are working, of course, but chatting is the new century's equivalent of the water cooler.
