Well... This year it's home renovations. We just gutted and finished our kitchen a few months ago. Not exactly by choice, but that nightmare is over. 2. When I get motivated, my hair. I have 3 different colors woven in and it's usually around $160.00. 3. Fresh fruits and veggies, fresh herbs and leaner cuts of meat. I still buy a few "junk foods" like a slice of cake here and there but we eat fairly healthy.

10% cream (which is called "Half and half" for whatever reason is beyond me) for my coffee. Will have to thik about what else. Mechanic told me my 24-year-old car wasn't worth fixing ... so I bought an '05 Chevy "Cobalt", just under 100,000 km. (62,000 mi.) from a long-term friend who fixes 'em. Standard transmission, that uses slightly less fuel ... so I can coast up to traffic lights when they turn yellow (and down hills, when no one's behind, ready to crawl up my tailpipe). Getting near closing time ... and I have some other chores to do ... so will have to think later. ole joyful

Vanity! Clothes, shoes and my hair (cuts and color). My yard seems to be costing a lot lately, redoing plantings etc. jude

Yarn Beads Rubber stamp stuff Used to be books would top the list. Now I get lots of free ones for the Kindle Fire! So I spend less there. But I do buy some. And I will be replacing some of the purchased books that I read over and over with the same titles for the Kindle. That will get expensive! I have at least four authors whose series I love. I read them all over again at least once a year. I am getting a craving for a couple of them again, so I will probably be putting the kindle down or buying them for that shortly!

1. Morning coffee at a diner. 2. Get 2 newspapers delivered. 3. Soft touch to my 2 daughters-one spent $534 on a pair of boots using my credit card. Christmas might have to be scaled back...
|
Hmmm, I think I need to add what jkayd said! At the price of gas, a 75 gallon tank, and anywhere from 5 to, if we are very lucky, 8.5 miles per gallon, that can be a big splerge when traveling! I think DH figured we have to be gone about 2 weeks before it balances out cost wise to traveling without the RV and using hotels and eating out. Robb, wear them only when sitting and hold your feet up so you can admire them! Better yet, put them on and lay on the couch with your feet up on the back of it and admire them! Sorry to hear about the back diagnosis, tho.

1) Pet. A lot depends on what you consider a "splurge". I consider it something you do or have that you don't really need to survive. Something you could easily get along without. I don't consider vet bills a splurge, I consider them required for responsible pet ownership, however pet ownership is a splurge. 2) DSL internet. Although many would argue they couldn't live without the internet, I'd suggest they could. There's free internet available but I do enough research that I recover the cost of a lot of my internet cost so the splurge isn't that great. 3) Occasional meal out. I don't do the fancy meals out. $10 is usually going to include meal (unless I make the 5 disappointments mistake! LOL) and tip since I often forgo a fountain beverage unless it's at the buffet where I get coffee, tea, milk and pop or other drinks all for one price should I so choose. Yeah, that's more of a splurge by definition than the spring water. When it comes down to it, cars, even electricity, computers, cell phones, TVs, ipods, etc, etc are all splurges for most people. Hiring people to do things is usually a splurge too.

Thanks Tami! I may have to find glass cases for them and display them. I can't throw them out! Just can't.
