Cloudy, drizzly, warm and humid today too Shirley.

I nuked some potatoes to bake them, sauteed cauliflower and heated up the extra meat and rice mixture that I had when I made stuffed peppers. Spooned it over my potatoes.

Nothing fantastic about this season yet. Roaring furnaces, late daylight, early darkness, things dying. Then it gets worse. Man, it's a long ways til Spring. Some of the fast cook tender roast beef in the pressure cooker became stew. with thick cut veggies. Big flaky warm biscuits to drag thru the juices. Steamed Broccoli buried in cheese sauce. Fresh cut Pineapple. Cookies. Carmel Ice Cream. Late Happy Hour due to a dumb doctor appointment.

Roaring furnaces, OF? Not here yet.

I made some buttermilk biscuits this weekend. So good!!

I've thawed some crappie fillets (caught this weekend) and will bake them in a crunchy breadcrumb and parmesan crust. Mixed rice/grains, asparagus, and steamed carrots to go with the fish. I think a lemony cream sauce would be good....can't decide.

We've been in what feels like monsoons for a couple of days, and the temperature has dropped dramatically. It's finally starting to feel like Fall.

My meal was just something quick for me. Lunch meat sandwich, Cheetos and a banana. Too much going on for me right now.

I am making a big batch of tuna salad for sandwiches tonight.

I had a very late lunch, as I was waiting for the tech to install a DVR for me. Tonight I had crab legs and a salad........Libby (cat) bugged me for tastes of the crab legs!

Pan Fish should be fried, with french fries & cole slaw. No cat would get any taste of my crab legs.

Hot and humid today. Hubby wasn't home so I cooked just a piece of chicken. I went out to lunch today and it was very nice. However, I was irked by the fact that for the fourth outing in a row, over several months, I was expected to drive!

Jasdip: Your meal sounds like something I'd make. I never have extra meat/rice mixture, but sometimes I'll take part of a leftover pepper and put it over a potato.

OF: You have such a way of describing your meal. It makes all the foods at least 3 times more appetizing. Tonight is no exception.

Rhizo: It has been a coon's age since I've had fresh crappie, but the memory of the taste is still there. I'd like some of the rest of your meal, too. Does it take long to cook your rice/grains?

Sue: Glad to have you here tonight. Quick and easy is often how we have to do it when we have "too much on our plate".

Raven: I like tuna salad... good on sandwiches, lettuce wraps, or eat by the spoonful... I like it all.

Phyllis: If my son were near you, he'd have asked for an invitation to your meal. He loves crab legs.

Ellen: Hmmmm, sounds very tasty.

Pam: A piece of chicken sometimes is all that's needed. It's too bad you always have to drive.

Shirley, the Rice Select blends take about twenty five minutes, or so.

Crappie is delicious, isn't it? This is crappie season around here so I expect I'll be fixing a lot of it and whatever else we pull from the lakes and rivers around here. Any recipe suggestions will be welcome!

Today was exceptionally warm -- upper 70s, but VERY windy. You never know if it will be the last "good day" of the season, so dinner was at a historic local dive and I thought to take a pic from the car as we were leaving. :O) I had the pork bbq sandwich & fries. I love the atmosphere and always have a blast when I go here. :O)

Rhizo: All we ever did with our crappie was dip it in eggs/milk, then in cornmeal, and pan fry it.
