I am having a baked potato, a piece of boiled chicken and some applesauce. Rainy off and on here today, breezy and chilly. Into the upper 20's predicted for tonight.

We have leftovers, cabbage casserole and chicken fricassee with rice.

I started making a big pot of chicken vegetable soup/stew earlier this afternoon and it smells so good! I've put some egg noodles in it to cook up and will probably add chopped kale, too.

It's getting very cold and windy outside. Robert and a pal had planned to go night fishing tonight but thankfully they both have some good sense!

I can't decide if I want to cook a piece of tuna or boil a packet of naturally smoked kippers which I have been craving. Tuna is easier to eat because there are no bones but the kippers have the little bones you have to pick out as you eat them.

haha ok I just talked myself out of having the kippers. By the time I eat it will be dark and the trick or treaters will be out and this is the first year in my life I won't have my door open to them and don't have any treats in the house. Hard to eat fish with bones in the dark. It is going to be a miserable wet, cold and windy night out there for the kids.

DH and I are having take out pizza, pumpkin beer~~chocolate candy and I bought some pop corn poped in olive oil? (not sure if that will a taste deal or not). We will eat while we watch a spooky movie~~~we get no trick or treaters, but want to celebrate anyway~~this is what we came up with ;)

HORRIBLE! Cold and dismal. The air is dotted with rain, hail, and snowflakes. The house is creaking with howling 60 mph winds. The direct N wind is kicking up 20' waves on Lake Michigan. One guess. HOT SOUP
Couldn't get a front row view, the park/beach was closed off due to the dangerous waves. Best I could do was from 1/2 mile distant, the waves pounding the pier/lighthouse.

Here on the eastern shores of northeast Michigan we have snow and it is sticking to the roofs. Probably have an inch in them morning. High tomorrow is supposed to be 32ð.
Lake Huron has large waves and our inland lake has white caps too!

just wind right now for Detroit...had some light rain but ds1 who commutes to msu, had "snane" from msu to almost the Oakland county border...hate that commute for him...

Sue: Your meal would be something I'd enjoy. Do you have to send your weather my way? I'd rather you share your food but not your weather.

Raven: I read the recipe for your cabbage casserole ... sounds good... so does your chicken.

Rhizo: Ooooh, your soup sounds good and comforting. Just what so many who are having cold and nasty weather need tonight.

Cherryfizz: I can just picture you, hiding in your house, perhaps with a small flashlight, trying to pick bones from your fish. Lol. Enjoy your tuna.

Yogalady: Pizza sounds good but not so sure about pumpkin beer. I hope the two of you enjoy your various treats.

Old Fixer: Soup is the answer when you have the weather you're having. They had scenes on the national news of similar pictures.

Kathy: Did you have soup tonight too, to help you with dealing with the bad weather?

Susan: It's too early to have to be on pins/needles about the road conditions, isn't it? Maybe Rhizo can send you some of her soup to help give you some comfort. (Does your son report in when he gets to where he is going?)
