Hello, Red Leaf (many pictures)...

I used to post goofy stories here sometimes, with captions on pictures. I haven't done it for years, but decided to do it today.
Two weeks ago, we had our annual sisters' weekend, which included my mom who is 86, and my cousin Peggy from CO and her sister Sue from CA. Our mothers are sisters and our dads were brothers, so we call them our double cousins.
The rest are my sisters.

The story of a read leaf and the people who loved it so much, in the end, they freed it.
All taken at Bear Head Lake State Park, Ely, MN on sisters' weekend.

Sandy and I were walking and found this lonely red leaf, trying to hide under a tree.
Hello, Leaf.

It took to Sandy right away.

It followed us to a fallish-looking fern.

Next it decided to sit on some small fallen birch branches.

A little braver now, it laid on a fallen tree trunk.

It begged to pose by the tree, but I had to hold it up to help it.

Then it got into a pump. I know it looks like a latrine, but trust me, it ins't.

It insisted on going back to the lodge with us. At first, Mom was a little scared of it, as she had always warrned us not to bring in any wild things from the forest.

Upon closer examination, she declared it safe to play with.

It smelled ok to me.

Rose told it to kiss you-know-what. She's always liked horses better than leaves.

Linda thought it was a bit over friendly.

Pam thought it and its cousin would make a great bra...or at least, pasties.

Red Leaf was getting tired, it wouldn't even let Sue talk.

Finally, it whispered to Peggy that is was time to set it free.

So we did. I dropped it over the railing of the deck and it floated gently to the ground.
Good-bye, Red Leaf.
