My first pot of soup for the season!

That's a good indication that the chilly weather is here to stay, which is a reason to celebrate in the South!

I had a meaty hambone in the freezer so made a split pea soup, a favorite of ours. I loaded it up with celery, carrots, and leeks, quinoa, thyme, sage, rosemary, and used chicken stock as the base.

I texted Robert that the house smells wonderful from the soup. I'll bet you anything that he brings home some pumpernickle bread so that I can make some croutons.
