I love the mute button. In fact I'm using it now.

Let the politicians know how you feel!

We have a major party here that is heavy on the attack ads.

Makes one feel that they don't have much useful to say about their own record if all that they can think of to impress the public is to drop (male bovine by-product/excrement) on the competitors.

P.S. Here's an idea: just turn off the TV - do some creative thinking on your own.

This is a terrible season! We have politicians throwing mud. We have Medicare insurance ads. They're on TV and radio. They're running slanted 'polls' by phone. The junk mail is filling our recycling bin.

The elections will be over in two weeks. The Medicare enrollment period will end Dec. 7

Oh, wait! Is that a Christmas ad I see on TV? (sigh)

I love the mute button. Between political ads and drug ads, if I didn't have a mute button I wouldn't watch much TV.

I use my mute button for almost every commercial. Seems like the commercials last longer that the program. Now Comcast has it set that when you watch a program that's on Demand, you cant use the ff button. If it wasn't for the sports channel for my DH, I would cancel the cable and just keep the internet. Almost all the shows are there to view.

another reason I use the mute button is for these so called singers they keep letting sing on the morning news. They sound horrible, I don't know how they ever made it on TV. The news cast seems to love them. Maybe its just me.... take me back to the 80's & 90's style.

No mute, just click. Or get up and eat. Better yet, fall asleep.

Rarely watch live T.V. tape everything and start watching about a half hour into the show. Fast forward through all commercials.

I don't watch t.v. very often, but when I do, mute is my favorite button on my remote!

Mute button is the best invention ever!

Let the advertisers know you won' t be buying their product because of the ads. I did. Several years ago one of the banks using the Vikings showed something I did not like and I wrote to them telling them that the type of violence was giving the young people the wrong attitude on handling the problem. I did not rant etc, just explained why I did not like it. I got a nice letter back thanking me for letting them know and about a week after that, that ad disappeared and the ads have been less violent from that bank.

I am very selective in my TV viewing. Never watch the popular shows. Mostly the 2 PBS stations we get here.

Because of diminished hearing at age 92 I use the captioning, Saves a lot of pain in my estimation.

One problem is the misuse of words and bad spelling on some captions. I think it is voice to text rather than regular typing. Even that is not as bad as the speech.

Most of the popular commercial programs I have never seen and don't miss them.

Don't we all WISH we could take the time (well, would, might be a better choice word) to let 'them' know that we just push that mute button. Don't you think 'they' know? I just watch less and less programing.... but my viewing has become a one show on the networks a week. I am sorry for my fave guy, Mark Harmon,(love his show and spin offs) but you gotta do what you gotta do.... period. PBS is watched pretty often, tho. I have hearing loss, too and CC is my (sometimes silly) friend. OOPs.... No NCIS tonight, so I will continue to pack for our next trip.
