Yes but the judge was very nice by allowing them staggered sentences so there will always be one parent home with the children. They also have a huge family to help out.
I think they are pretty fortunate to not have much bigger sentences.
He still could be deported back to Italy after his term is served. He better be a good boy!

I've watched all the Housewives series since the beginning. It astounded me to watch Teresa and Joe shop with wads of cash. I don't mean a few thousand, but several. Pop in to buy some clothes for the girls and pull out $4000 in cash. Furniture shopping was over $100,000. Excessively lavish lifestyle. Would only buy a new home because an older home was "dirty". The defense argued that Bravo edited the episodes to make Joe look bad. Then why Teresa and Joe did you keep signing up for it???

I do not feel sorry for them at all, but do for the girls. Teresa and Joe should be thanking their lucky stars that they will be allowed to serve a staggered sentence. If it were the average person, that would not be happening.

Thankfully the tables are bolted down in prison, so no table flipping! I do see a book coming....

They were just plain old crooks and all the tears she shed on camera don't make her any different than a common person that doesn't have a big house or drive big cars or live a big life style...a crook is a crook is a crook...the court was very lenient with them...they were damned lucky

I thought from the beginning that all the NJ Housewives' $ was Mafia related. The two Joes especially are both dumb as dirt and no way could they run successful multimillion dollar businesses. And isn't "construction business" almost synonymous with Mafia in NY/NJ...lol.

I feel sorry for the girls...they didn't ask for any of this. I think J&T got off very lightly. I don't think they are at all remorseful...only that they got caught. The news showed her with a hairstylist and makeup artist at her home yesterday morning joking that she had to look good for her mug shot. Then they show up at the courthouse in a $65,000 Mercedes. They have no shame whatsoever. Bravo finally fired her, but she will probably get a book deal and make a tidy sum with her sob story of what she's been through. I hope no one buys it or her cookbooks.

She has already made millions from her books, she has been bringing home the money for a while now, Joe really has not been able to work from what I have seen. He tried a pizza shop and failed at that too. The smaller house she was looking at was still over a million. She was turning her nose up at it.
No doubt they would do the same thing again. The remorse is strictly from getting busted. Plus they also own a big house at the jersey Shore.

Melissa and her husband are in financial trouble too They are living in a rental and have a tenant in their very, very nice home that took them to court for water problems etc and called them slum lan lords. The woman have to buy all their own clothes and dress in a fashion that is unrealistic for day time wear much less evening.
These folks need the money. I don't know what they get out of all of this made up fighting. The very nice woman whose son has perhaps autism was in financial debt from her husband's gambling.
They get paid according to their popularity and performance. It is not much. Up to $200.000 per season which doesn't seem to help. This was my guilty pleasure but the format is the same: have a party. get drunk and takes sides. They must be embarrassed to do this kind of work.

They actually make big bucks for the show and Theresa is at $650,000 plus bonuses which are many, including the trips etc. Nene makes one million plus bonuses. Plus they all now have side businesses.

Melissa and Joe Gorga are in a rental while their massive new house is being built. It is over 7000 sqft. They have shown the plans and drawings plus the property they bought in a very expensive area. It has a huge multi story turret in the front. It's Melissa's castle. It has a huge theater in it.
I have wondered if he is worried about the feds looking into his finances next. But they have not curtailed their spending. She made some good money for her songs.
Everything is so over the top with all of them. Apparently that's what pays on bravo.

The Jersey Shore house is on the market for around $250,000-ish.

I always found it interesting that we rarely saw Teresa cook anything. Normally it's a frozen waffle for the girls. Joe on the other hand would be the one chopping garlic, making pasta, cooking dinner and telling her to get out of the way. I would think she would want to show off her talents in order to sell more cookbooks. Kathy Wakilie would be the example I am referring to. Her meals and desserts were amazing and she let us see that in most of her episodes. I'd buy her cookbook. My gut tells me Teresa can't cook and all these books are based soley on her mom and families recipes. Her hair care line is another example.

I've wondered about Joe and Melissa too. He also apparently has been helping to support his mom and dad for several years. He talked about it in a few episodes.

Apparently Joe and Teresa are scheduled for WWHL on Monday. I hope they stay home.

By the way the word is that Teresa is pregnant and they are hoping she will be able to have the baby before going to prison. This really makes me question their decision to have her go to prison first. She will be unable to bond with the baby and Joe will be left alone to raise the new baby and the 4 girls. Seems like terrible timing but I do wonder if this was a ploy to try to keep her out of prison.

I read that Melissa talked hubby Joe into convincing his parents to sell their house and give the $ to them for their house and "businesses". That may explain the animosity Teresa feels toward Melissa. Even her old friend Amber said on the show that Melissa was a goldigger....that she set out to marry a rich guy while she (Amber) decided to go to college and have a career.

It will be interesting to see if their house gets built considering they seem to have poured a lot of $ into the shredding business and joe even said if it fails they will have no $. Seems pretty stupid to be building a multimillion house if they are trying to launch a new business. If they were so flush, why would they need to move to a rental and rent their house when it didn't sell?

The Lauritas have $ problems too. I thought the Wakiles were the most normal and lived in a normal house but now even they are building a mansion. I still think all of them, the Manzos as well, are indebted to the Mafia, no matter how much they all deny it. Heck, we have a cousin in NJ who everyone thinks married into the Mafia.....they have a pretty nice lifestyle but nobody knows what her husband does.

If teresa is pregnant she will be giving birth in jail.....and how sad for the child if it's true. I think though it was just another sleazy ploy to avoid jail.

Well it's the rumor going around, some say no way some say yes she is and there are baby bump pictures. Who knows! I would not be surprised. And we have seen big denials that turned out to be true.
Guess we will know soon if she is, you can't hide it for long.

I have the same questions about Joe and melissa and their spending habits. They may be the next ones in court.
