I am a great grandmother!

My granddaughter who lives in Missouri gave birth about 2:30AM. She is a small girl and the baby was big! He was also a surprise! She had two sonagrams and they assured her that she was having a girl. Jayden Lane will not be wearing the pretty pink that everyone has bought him. I will be shopping today for a baby Gator outfit.My granddaughter is a big Gator fan. Not because of the Football team,but because of Tim Tebow. Maybe I need to find a Jets outfit.This is my first great grandchild, and I probably won't see him until March.They will come down here for Spring Break. I am a happy lady!

Congrats!! my first thought was awww what a little guy. My daughter was 9lbs 8 oz so anything under that is "little" to me. My grandparents are in their mid 70's and now have 11 great grandchildren. They are both hoping to see at least one from the next generation. I thought my cousin was going to faint when they said they are waiting for her son to have a baby.... he's only 15. lol congrats again. I won't ask for pictures... I understand some people aren't comfortable with their baby all over the internet.

Hey there- I think it was a small piece of my husbands grandmother Saima's rose. It has grown well for many years on the farm in Menahga, near Park Rapids MN. It is thought by the family that Saima's mother brought it over with her from Finland. It is a sturdy, to 8+' tall shrub rose that will gradually spread a bit from the roots. It has small but beautiful double white blossoms with a light fragrance blooming all along the branch once in late spring to early summer. It has unusually small and delicate very dark green foliage compared to any other rose I have seen. A friend who loves roses once thought she may have identified it as a once well known antique/heirloom rose from France from several centuries ago- 1700s I believe. Alas, I can not remember the name she gave me- I believe it was a woman's name..... maybe with a title like countess.... She seemed to think it was a highly sought after rose for those who like the really old world roses. I like it very much as it is very care free- disease and pest resistant- A tall structural element to a garden- the darker green and delicate foliage add contrast to what ever is planted with it, and of course, it is a bit of family history growing on. It is however very thorny. Long and short delicate slivers that easily pierce the hands and feet! I have to mow around it, so I get reminded of the thorns frequently. I can certainly understand why you are so worried. You mention 'bad luck'. Let's look at the other side -- you and the babies survived & all of you are fine (I assume so from how you wrote). If the doctor is aware of YOUR history, that's good, but probably not worrisome. Just something to file in the back of their mind. As long as she takes care of herself & keeps her dr appointments, there's not lot you can do except pray!! Ask friends & family to pray, too. And being a grandma before you turn 40 isn't so bad....ask me :-) First g'child in Mar; my youngest graduated from HS in May; I turned 40 in Aug. Had a co-worker a few yrs ago lamenting turning 40 (had 3 kids in grade school). He quit complaining in my hearing when I told him I was grandma before I was 40 :-0 I thot it was funny!!!! I know it's not easy -- I'd be scared & worried, too -- but try to relax. The baby will be a delight!!

Awww....nice....yes another EAPG piece...without pouring over a bunch of books andw eb sites i can't give you an exact name...but it's one of the Cane/daisy and button/square patterns....dating about 1880 to maybe 1910. here's some idea of the possibilities..... http://patternglass.com/Store/CeleryVase/index.htm Appears to have been well used and has lots of hard water stains.....a soak in a vinegar solution would make it sparkle again.

Aw, Sandie, that's great news. Guess I couldn't talk you into a 'Noles outfit, huh? Too bad it wasn't a girl, I have three sweet little Gator onesies I bought for my niece but misplaced them. Replaced with a different gift but found them about a year later. Ha! Been waiting for a little Gator girl to give them to.
