How to ship insulin/keeping it cold?

I have traveled on a plane with unopened insulin before; my sister packed it between frozen ice packs that she'd saved from shipments to her.

Now I need to send some of my unused up the east coast, about 6 states away. (Don't worry, the expiration date is far off!)

Would I just use the freezer packs that you can buy for kids' lunchboxes? Or do you think those will be too heavy?

I know I'll need to send it "overnight" rate and make sure not to have any weekend days involved so it doesn't sit in a warehouse or office somewhere.

Any advice appreciated!
I haven't checked the FedEx website yet -- absolutely not sending it Postal Service express/overnight (had one bad experience waiting for a 2-day service of a gift that they said they didn't have, but it'd actually been at the local post office for at least 2 days!)
