I had the sheets on the blueberries ;-) But just pulled all the mulch off the strawberries before it started to rain, they look good, there was only 1 leaf cluster that looked a little weird (light and kind of puckered?), no black centers (how long after frost does it take the damage to show?) and some berries forming. Just came in for lunch - guess I'm not going to get anything planted today, or put anything outside to harden off. I'm not complaining, we need the rain, I'll just have to work outside tomorrow when it's sunny and high 70's (weird weather)! @howelbama - Lowes has frost blankets?! I even called burlap manufacturer near me the other day, they sell shade cloth but no frost blanket. I've never seen any of the big-box stores carry anything like frost blanket or row cover, and the nurseries don't seem to either. Do you have a SKU?

Dale I would never be able to describe the exact location of where these morels were found. They were on private property, and I was invited by the owner, or I never would have found it by myself. Now, since she has moved, I'd probably have to trespass or get the new owner's permission. Anyways, you should be happy to know they are to be found in many locations in Oklahoma. Keep tabs on this link, and you should be able to zero in on a good location. I think there's another morel link for Oklahoma as well as this one online. You won't be disappointed if you luck onto a good morel spot. As you will see in the pics in this link, even the homeies love them, lol! Just wait til about April and about four days after a rain. Look for a moist woodland, where some deer and cows have roamed, and there are many such places in Oklahoma. I LOVE morels just about any way you can prepare them. And especially morel soup, or perhaps cut up in small pieces for tempura. A real delicacy. I've been thinking of starting my own little shitake patch. You can buy the spores of those online and perhaps other varieties as well. Dawn I can relate to the harvesting, canning and preserving fatigue. Getting kind of tired of it myself, so when dinner time rolls around and it's just me, it's catch as catch can from the garden. I really do hate to see the summer crops dwindling. Okra not bearing well. The cucumbers that store boughts will NEVER be able to rival are just about kaput. I still have tons of BIG tomatos that haven't ripened yet. Since it's been dry, with no recent rain, I've been allowing them to store up all that deliciousness and not get soggy or insipidly flavorless, so they have been amazing! Especially enjoying the Indian Stipes, which were not new to you, but certainly a delightful first for me. I'm hoping I don't get stuck with having to can jars of pickled tomatos or green tomato relish. I like it, but there's only so much of it I can eat. Today's menu was simply one of my baked buttercup squash, (just the right size for me), with butter and brown sugar, and cooked to pieces pole beans. Since I don't have a family to cook for, sometimes I kind of 'batch' and my folks used to call it. Have any of you had the dream where you dream you're awake, but you know you're realy asleep and it's a dream? This would only happen to me when I was home alone in the afternoon and took a nap. Constantly. I've never napped alone in the house again. The floors would be crooked, and in the dream I'd keep telling myself to wakeup. Freakin' scary! Last night was kind of a funny dream because of what I saw on the news. They did a story about how bad the smoke is in the NW because of the fires, and how the smoke was spreading all the way to CO. I dreamt I was walking to the mail box and huge black plumes of smoke was blowing across the driveway. So I started running to the mailbox but I wasn't getting anywhere. lol I do wish I still had those dreams where I could fly or jump really high. Those were fun! I'll tell you about my horrid recurring dream when I was about 5 yrs. old later. I remember it vividly and I still wonder if it had meaning?

My mistake, 'Creepy' did go through. I guess there are those who like that type of thing, but I'm not one of them. To me she seems, I don't know, depressing? Sinister? Even kind of evil. And she did win in Asia. I've got mixed emotions about someone winning the show in one country, then coming to another country and entering the same show. Doesn't really seem quite fair to me. And I've always had a question in my mind about rules for contestants. I wonder what, if any, qualifications they have to meet in order to audition. The group that got the Golden Buzzer were fantastic! I can easily see them winning the whole thing! And I actually laughed out loud at the lady stand-up comedian, she was really funny! I have seen trained cats before, once at Fiesta Texas, and once in a Ringling Bros. Barnum and Bailey circus matinee. But neither act was any where near as good as last night's cats were.
