just was over at hgtv's site and they're closing all the message boards...have gone there off and on for many years...

Wonder what the reason is? I never have been there-no reason, just did not know about it.

That's too bad. I used to post there regularly on the General Decorating board, but a few summers ago, a really nasty, but effective, troll pretty much destroyed that board by pitting members against one another and making fun of many. Many, many posters left and never returned.

Oh, you lovely ladies, if you could see my garden now you'd be horrified, it's all sticks with old leaves attached, and new ones coming through, and tiny rose bushes with wire fences around them. However, I hope that will all change in another month or two, when I should have blooming roses in my garden. I hadn't looked at these wedding photos in quite some time, and Cecil and I had such a sweet time remembering that day while looking at these pictures. How fortunate I am to have spent all these wonderful years since then in this wonderful place with that amazing man.

I doubt that one or two cherry peppers is significant. The cucumbers are also low pH and the brine should be sufficiently acid for both veggies. In future you might consider using dried red peppers which add heat and color with no risk whatsoever. The green tomato isn't an issue. It's unnecessary to buy water, even if your water is hard. The document below on pickling has information on softening your own water. Tap water is fine, bottled spring water is fine (though expensive). The cloudiness is probably a result of residual minerals in the water (or using table salt) but it's not a safety issue. So from my perspective you're fine. Enjoy your pickles. yellow solo cup, used solder pen to melt holes...just make sure to clean tip good with emery cloth and re-tin tip when done. also forgot to mention water pump runs 24/7 air pump runs 24/7 with one output in reservoir just to keep the nasties out and the other in gallon container of pH'd top off water. lights are on a 16/8Hr timer cycle

I faced the same dilemma and decided not to hire one. I thought it would maybe save a little money and build a good rapport with the builder showing that we could work one on one. We're 13 weeks in and I haven't wished we had an agent. I don't feel like they're taking advantage of us but this is also our first build. If you truly felt it wouldn't cost you a more expensive contract price, and your time is extremely limited then an agent may be worth it. Hope that helps and good luck! PS - I should add that we have a large, reputable (but locally owned) builder, so I went in with some confidence that they have a reputation on the line.

A year ago Chatelaine, one of our national magazines discontinued all of their forums (food, decorating, finance, books, entertainment etc) and went to Facebook. I don't like FB so I don't follow Chatelaine.

No reason given for giving 4 days notice of closing the forums - hundreds being affected - they would steal your ideas posted on their forum anyway - I guess anyone can steal the ideas though... Oh well. I like FB but I also sell thru Facebook too and it is a nice way to keep track of my family...

HGTV is closing the existing forums, but, not the forums themselves. They will be on facebook. I have facebook, but, will not be going there to check on HGTV.
