I need some good vibes....

I have been taking care of grandson's cat, and have one of my own. Guest cat always attacked mine, but we were handling it OK by separating them. Well, I made the mistake of letting the guest cat in while mine was in the room, so the attack was on. Stupid me tried to grab the attacker, and got bitten. Well, I ended up in ER that night and next morning, getting antibiotic meds. (I'm allergic to penicillin and sulfa). Red streaks started showing up so I had an IV yesterday, will have one today and one tomorrow. It doesn't look any better, so I really need your thoughts and prayers at this time. It's scary. (Guest cat has gone home to grandson!)

Well this was a cutting that a very generous person gave me, and it started growing what looked to be horns! So I just had to do something with it because it looked so animated. Or..perhaps this is a result of being grounded to my room (got bored), CHENA!! It's all her fault lol (by the way I ordered more brugs while I was in there). karyn, omg that's too funny. I can just see it now- diaper bags full of cuttings...rotfl...Gee what can I put cuttings in my kids are school age and teenage. How about thier backpacks...lunchboxes...I can always just invite my mother- she carries a HUMONGOUS purse LOL!

Often people who abuse or are addicted to drugs or alcohol, are very demanding. They feel and act like everyone 'owes' them. As far as your sister not liking you very much...well, that is because you (and only you) have a problem with her and her ways. You are 'on to' her, and thus you are the enemy. You are the one standing in her way of getting her way. As far as the selfishness...again, all they care about is themselves and their 'next fix, or habit. They show no concern for anyone but themself. Every night and weekend, partying...drugs, or alcohol, or most likely both. She has refied her house several times taking out over $300,000 in 4 years time Â plus the 100+k in her retirement acct she cashed out. This all, or a very good portion, had to go on drug, alcohol, gambling, or some combination of those things. She does not want help, she wants a handout...as that would be what it would be living rent free. Your sister is driving 80 miles a day for a minimum wage job? That is crazy with gas prices as they are. My guess is that there is something else that she has in the town/city that she works in, other than her job. Your Mom and Dad, have been enablers. They have enabled her to do as she merrily pleases with no consequences for her actions. You and your Dad know now, that this in no way helped her...it just helped her to go on being irresponsible or addicted to whatever she is on/doing. The only way to help her, is to give her advice, and food if she is hungry. She is old enough to realize that she has to work, to pay the givens (living expenses). Since paying for one's living expenses has not concerned her before, it will not all of a sudden be a priority if she is renting (?) from family. Your Mom, at her age may never understand the concept of enabling, versus helping, but hopefully you can make her see that helping your sister to the tune of $70K actually never helped her one bit. It just prolonged the inevitable...of her losing her home. $300,000 in 4 years time Â plus the 100+k in her retirement acct she cashed out. $100k a year would almost have to be drugs or gambling. I doubt if anyone could drink away that much money....but I could be wrong. Sue

Prostate cancer most certainly can spread or come back. Even when the prostate is removed, it often comes back in the form of organ or bone cancer. The PSA levels are checked regularly and often even after removal, to see if it has indeed spread to the bladder for instance. Hubby's came back a couple of years later in the form of bone cancer. Of the two, I believe the bone cancer is easier to treat than in the organs. It may not be completely successful, but he's doing several different treatments. The one that he's just finished is monthly injections of radium 223. Chemo is still an option, so far he's avoided that.

Dang, Phyllis, that's one nasty cat. It sure wouldn't be coming back to my house anytime soon. I hope the antibiotics kick in soon and you get feeling better. Bet it scared the daylights out of you! Good thoughts floating north to you.

Cat bites ARE serious. Hope all turns out fine with you. Despite having 15 cats over the years, I never have been bitten, but I hear it's painful.

I broke up a cat fight when I was in a high school and ended up on IV antibiotics for a week! But it went away without any permanent damage except for a small scar so I know you will be just fine! It just takes a little time so try not to worry too much.

I'm glad you got quick treatment, Phyllis. I got badly attacked some years ago on both my hands, with lots of deep punctures. I didn't realize cat bites carry infection, and waited--almost too long. Scary indeed!

Thinking of you Phyllis and sending healing thoughts. I am glad to hear you went to the ER. I went to the Dr after getting scratched by a cat and I had cat scratch fever. It affected my joints for a long time.

A good squirt bottle, like a good sized dish soap bottle filled with water works well for breaking up extra curricular activities.

that happened to me, over two years ago. arm swelled up three times it's normal size. healed up quickly and quite well after dr. prescribed medication and i got a tetanus shot. hope you feel better soon. :)
