Changes in Facebook?

Has something been changed in Facebook? I haven't been able to see my notifications, messages, or posts for days. I can't even post on my own page -- nor can I see any previous posts. It just hangs when I try anything. I've upgraded and restarted my browser (Firefox) and have even restarted my computer with no change in result. Only Facebook isn't working for me. Not that it's a great loss, but it's my only way of communicating with some people who don't use email. :p

Well I finally signed up for a facebook account a few months ago. I had resisted only because I didn't feel like learning something new right now and for me if someone wants to share something they can just email me a photo or text me on my phone or send a tweet which I can get on my phone. I signed up because I found out the one slot machine I love to play at the casino the gaming company had a facebook page and I could play a few of there games there for fun so I bit the bullet and signed up. I have everything blocked and don't want to friend anyone or get into that so only go on to play my game and that works for me. I have since found a few more slots from other gaming companies I am addicted to on there. Mary

I rather like it too although I only changed a week or so ago. Like anything else, change brings a learning curve.... I think your solution is the best thing...just deactivate your account....that will show them how pissed you really are. Haha ChloeCat....you nailed it.....I'm surprised you were not accused of getting up on the wrong side of the bed....

I posted on the Robin Round forum that I would REALLY love the option to edit or delete a posting or response that I have left, that includes a pic I may have posted too, I might not want it to be around always. We should have this option of edit or deleting an again this is my personal opinion BUT I think adding this option will make Gardenweb better, and though I do have an account on FB (we can edit and delete postings there too) I prefer not to be linked to it through GW, I too come here to get away from all the junk on FB. Again my personal opinion but I do not see the point of Pinterest, what is it good for? You can do the same things there you can on other sites it is a jumble of junk to me. In other words, (I am not a 'senior' either) BUT I want GW left to it's cozy little self. Gardenweb is what it is because of the 'Community'/family bonds have been formed here that more likely then not last a lifetime. You CAN NOT get that on FB. GW is more then just a place to hang out and drink coffee, it is as said, A community of friends. FB or pinterest is NOT needed here. I do spend MORE TIME HERE then on FB, I post more here too.... ....so what does that tell you? Thanks for asking for input, I truly do hope it is taken to heart. :) Aqua

I believe Facebook has introduced a new message system and that is causing some problems for some people. I haven't upgraded my FB to the new message format, not sure I will, but it is causing me some problems with receiving notifications and messages too.

It's working fine for me. Yeah, I know a number of people who don't do email anymore. I have to contact them on FB and tell them I sent an email. ;-)

yes, alisande, and they don't respond to either the FB msg or email for me. lol!

I finally got to Notification Settings, changed the sound notification setting just to make any change, and did a Save to force everything to be refreshed. Facebook is miraculously working as "normal" for me again.

Try going to your Firefox and clearing the cache and stuff, often that will work if there's a bad cookie in the cache.

I have friends that don't reply to email or facebook... without a call, telling them they got mail/message.

Really, she just prefers the phone, and overall, that works great. Sometimes I just forget, and email... and then get no answer at all.
