I didn't know you wouldn't get the pictures. I was thinking about getting some of my magazines on my Kindle but would miss the pictures. I'm sorry I didn't answer your question but you gave me something to think about. I will to glad to see what the others say.

I am wondering if it is because it is a free trial? Maybe. Seems like it should show more! It does show some pictures, but nothing I'd call big or glossy.

You will get any and all pictures that are associated with an article! No adverting, however....that content disappears.

It's not the best medium for some magazines, but I really like it for my Atlantic Monthly (for example)!! , which I subscribe to for content, not flashy ads.

Before subscribing (or even test driving) a magazine for your tablet READ THE REVIEWS. You'll learn a lot about consumer disappointments that way.

I rather prefer the ads in fashion magazines. Dunno! I must be nuts, but I like to see the clothes, hair styles, etc. Some are weird, but some are good for pointers. Elle had one last month that had jewelry in the models' hair and I realized I could attach a broach to a hair clip. I admit, I probably would never have used that one had I not seen the picture. I must be weird, but really fashion is very visual, so I wouldn't think so?

Now, Popular Science, that one is about the articles. For instance. Don't really need a picture of a dark matter to read about it.

I have Southern Living on mine and get everything.

I use a reader app for my magazines, Zinio. I get all of the content exactly as it would be if I picked up the actual magazine.

I too use zinio and see exactly what I see in the magazine. Look for some free magazines and try zinio.
What tablet do you have?
Some things use flash also and flash doesn't come with the newer version of android but you can install it, if you need instructions and links just ask, I have posted the information before it's very easy.

It's a 9 inch Nook HD+ tablet. Other than this one issue (which seems solvable), I really really like it. I never really liked using anyone's laptop when I borrowed them. They seem so bulky and hard to use. I have pretty big hands and so using the keyboard and mouse are fairly difficult. I love having a touchscreen and stylus as much as I disliked using the attached heavy keyboards. I suppose, if i used it for any type of work, it would be better, but for play, I love the tablet.

In talking with my son, who also uses the tablet, to see if he wanted to keep his subscription, I was showing him what the magazines I was going to cancel... some of the pages of the magazine are switched? or are "showing" fashion dos and donts without photos! We just laughed! We have already decided to try zinio. Thanks for the link and the comments. This has really helped.

Our local library has a zinio service where you can download from a specific list of magazines that they've contracted for and read for free - you might see if your local library offers a similar service.
