Russell Sturgis (October 16, 1836 - February 11, 1909) was an American architect and art critic of the 19th and early 20th centuries. Started up in practice in NYC (1863), his works included Farnam Hall, Yale University, New Haven, CT (1869or70) and the Farnam House, New Haven (1884 He was one of the founders of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in 1870. A very interesting man. I learned a little about him because he was an acquaintance of my Great Great Grandfather and as a young man my Great Grandfather respected him and his work a lot. LIL

Today because of a predicted freeze tonight, I had to pick everything in the garden, including the winter squash. All these were from one massive plant. Note the yard stick in the foreground for scale. I also picked the last few small green tomatoes, a couple of forlorn cucumbers, and a veritable plethora of peppers. One bag of red or green bell peppers, one bag of banana peppers, and one bag of jalapenos.

Where I am, not taken today because today it's raining unfortunately. I took this picture last time. Still pretty but would prefer sunny skies. Houston is flooding again, I have been in touch with the neighbors, our area is OK thankfully.
