I have a Jerdon. I like it because it was a wall mount like you use in a hotel. I've had it many years and when we remodeled our bathroom, I no longer wanted to mount it on the wall but I have so much more drawer space now. I still like it because I have it in a drawer in the mount and just take it out as I would if it were on the wall, leaving the mount in the drawer and plug it in. When you set it back in the mount, it shuts off. They have many different models and run around $25.00 - $40.00.

I'm wash and wear! Don't even own a blow dryer.

I just looked at a $70 Babyliss Pro TT yesterday (Bed/Bath/Beyond), I'm thinking still...

It felt good in my hand, was a fairly compact size, lightweight - 1900 watts. I've bought pro salon type dryers before that are just too heavy so try one and hold it overhead before you buy.

I've gone through a couple of Conair 1850 watts that do the job just fine in the last couple of years, but both have begun to overheat over time. Yours is cool....mine are all but burning me, turn them to cooler setting and it takes too long to dry. Cleaning the lint filter hasn't helped.

Luckily my hair is short and I wash it in the evening, add gel, and put a few curlers on top...the next morning it is dry and I can just brush it out..

Just purchased a Conair 1875 Watt Ionic Ceramic Folding Handle Hair Dryer, and so far, I love it!

I use whatever is the cheapest at WalMart.

I have a LOT of hair. When I get out of the shower, I comb it with the big comb, use the brush, and then the little comb. My hair is so straight naturally, all I have to do is dry it after that. I love my hair dryer. When the one before this one died, I almost couldn't find a multi speed/multi temp hair dryer. Now they're everywhere! That's what I want. I want cooler air and hotter air. Cool and slow air is for styling the front. Hot and fast air is for drying the rest of the mane and creating some volume. I'll have to go look at it. It has a different air intake on it, so it doesn't overheat as easily. Cheapy Walmart. But multi air/temps is the best. Just my opinion.

I have a 1875 watt Heatmaster pro blow dryer...adjustable heat settings, and diffusers.

I love it...dries my chin length hair very quickly.

I'm happy with my Revlon, black & silver, 1875 watts, with variable settings (hot, warm, and cool). I don't know how much it cost, but you can be sure it wasn't expensive. :-)

I need a new one, mine is full of lint that I can't get to in order to clean it out. The lint is way down below the plastic air flow vent thing. I'm used to being able to just clean it when I need to.

I've had a travel size ConAir 1600 for a zillion years -- two speeds/temps. It must be 20 years old. I use it until my hair is just lightly damp.

I don't know the terminology for the other implement I use. Remember Vidal Sassoon? That's the brand! This is a 'stick' that blows hot/warm air through a hard plastic curler barrel at one end. I'm too clumsy to manage a dryer in one hand and a round styling brush in the other!

Since both of these contribute to drying, it's hard to judge the lifespan of either one. Also, I only shampoo every five days or so. Chin-length hairstyle.

I prefer the blow dryer at the condo because it is *quiet*. It's larger than my home blow dryer. I think it's a ConAir 1800, but it says something like 'quiet' right on the plastic casing.

I'm reading the posts with interest because my dryer is about to die and I need to replace it, too. I know I won't splurge on an expensive ion type as I don't need to worry about frizzies. I just want a basic multi-speed, multi-temperature version that's not too heavy.

Sorry, I don't use a blow dryer. A towel and the time it takes to put on clothes is all I need. Maybe when I was a teenager, if electricity had been invented then!

I don't always use one these days of short hair but I do when I am in a hurry. I bought a new one for the RV, I got it at big lots for around $15,don't remember the brand but it is a name brand and has various setting and cool air setting.
The one in the master bath I have had for many years, It was more expensive, it's an ion and ceramic type with various settings and temperature. Conair ionshine 1875.It has been dropped many times and parts of the plastic housing broke but it still runs like a champ. It came with diffusers.
