I spent my day updating and reviewing my insurances. I'm retired thru school employees retirement system. They change things around every year. You have to do a lot of reading to make sure you understand what is/isn't covered every Jan 1st.

I baked boneless skinless chicken breasts, tried different seasonings, putting one seasoning on half a breast, and another on the other half. Two sides were baked potato plus the skin, and leftover corn.

I have been gone all day. We took the two dogs to be groomed and then went on to shop. Finally got home and then gathered the eggs up and took some to my husband's business for him to try and sell. Finally back over to pick up the two dogs. Very nice day out. I made beef vegetable soup yesterday and that was my supper with some crackers.

Got a haircut today, then spent some time in T.J. Maxx. Just trying to while away an hour before I went to the chiropractor. Since I just had my hair done, decided to go out for dinner. DH will go out at the drop of a hat. Me, I need some fore warning. He had a steak and fries, I had shrimp and grits. I know not why, because I really am not fond of grits. The shrimp was tasty and I ate some of the grits with plenty of the shrimp sauce on them.

Shirley, which of your seasonings won the taste test?

Georgysmom, shrimp and grits is a specialty of mine! We love my version, which has onions, sweet peppers, and smoked sausage in it, too.

But I totally appreciate that grits are not beloved by everybody! It took me years to learn to love the delicate flavor. I'm picky, though.....no instant or quick grits in our house. Stone ground, slow cooked grits for me.

Jasdip, we're having some visitors from NY over the weekend, and they have requested....smoked pork shoulder! I'll probably put it on the Weber all day Friday, shred it and stick it in the fridge for supper on Saturday. Heck, I might even get inspired by you and make some rolls.

We're grilling some chicken quarters slathered with a smoky, spicy bbq sauce. Red beans and rice and a crunchy salad to round it out.

Good sun, then clouds interrupted Happy Hour. No need to fuss, same meal as yesterday.

Like Rhizo, I'm curious how your taste test turned out Shirley! Pretty creative, lol.

Sue, that's great that your hens are producing enough eggs that you can sell them! Obviously they're happy and healthy, and you're having a lot of fun, having them. They're a good way to get rid of food scraps, too.

Georgysmom, you made me smile when you said your hubby will go out at the drop of a hat. I tried grits once, when I travelled to Louisiana, don't care for it at all. :)

Hey your guests have great taste, Rhizo! LOL I know they'll be well fed by you, with or without homemade rolls. ;-D

OF, nothing wrong with repetitive meals, and yours are always good.

Simply Organic All Purpose Seasoning won hands down. All I did was rub the chicken lightly with olive oil, sprinkle with the seasoning, and bake. Let it rest 5 minutes after it's done before slicing. Will definitely do it again. I put an el cheapo creole seasoning on other half.....sister informed me I got the wrong one.

Hubby is outside right now grilling chicken for dinner and I have more of the fresh green beans in the steamer steaming to go with it. It sure smells good when he opens the door.
Sprouts had a fantastic sale on chicken, legs and the whole leg quarters were 79c a lb also the boneless skinless thighs were on sale too. He has not grilled chicken in a while so I hope it turns out good. Chicken can be iffy on the grill.

Canned ravioli.

Jean called, and thus, went out to dinner with her. Earls BBQ it was. We both had a Cheddar Burger, then went to BRAUMS for ice cream for desert.

Rhizo, your shrimp and grits sound wonderful. My meal was okay, nothing to rave about but I didn't have to cook!

I fried chicken (which I had not done in a long time - thank goodness it turned out really good), made gravy, and for veggies mashed potatoes and green beans. It was so good. Probably won't have that for another year or so - too many calories.
