What's for dinner Sunday?

We're having meatloaf I pulled from the freezer with peas and the last two frozen fruit salad cups. I'm havin' a lazy day!

Lazy, rainy, very rainy day here.

Church with friend, then I took myself to Captain D's for their senior special.

I took one of the hamburger patties from last night, warmed it up, put it on a slice of bread and topped it with a big thick slice of onion. And I heard that someone else had made potato soup today so I had to make some for myself. I added shredded cheese to it.

It's been a beautiful day here in my part of Ohio. I'm cherishing everyone of them

I roasted a small turkey yesterday and we wanted to have baked sweet potatoes. I've never baked sweet potatoes, I usually boil them along with white and mash them together. So I pricked the sweet potatoes, stuck them in the oven and later when I checked there was caramel pooled and stuck to my (thankfully) aluminum oven liner on the bottom of the stove. I cleaned it up then set the potatoes in a baking dish in the oven. When we were ready to eat there was caramel around the potatoes, but there was still lots of meat left in the potatoes and they were delicious. I can only assume that they don't need to be pricked before baking!

Raven, simple meal, I like it! Kittie, that is nice that he cooked. Well I made huge buns, they spread for some reason, so made huge patties..cooked them on the Foreman, after some onion slices and bacon..then loaded up with tomato and lettuce..so that was it..no sides...just mondo burgers. Oh product alert..Kraft slices, White Cheddar Habanero Cheese..really quite tasty not hot at all..just spicy..never noticed them before..and I buy a lot of sliced cheeses..so I'm not sure if it's new or Safeway just started carrying it. But I highly recommend..for a little flavor punch.

Sweet Betsy, that sounds heavenly. Enjoy! Mary, it would've been a good day to work outside here, too. Nice, easy dinner after all that. Raven, I dreaded going to the store because it's always so crowded at the first few days of the month. I was surprised that there wasn't that many people shopping (Publix). Hounds x two, I can almost smell your roast. Yum! LOL at your dogs! Sandie, it's a little too cold for me. I think you're further south though. I like the mid-80's best. But it is nice to turn on the oven for a nice roast. You have a very intelligent dog. She was getting you prepared for today :-) Shirley, I will forever appreciate a BLT--or anything with bacon--when I can eat it again! Enjoy it for me!

Laura, your dinner sounds delish--had to LOL at your DD. How soon they forget who taught them everything!! Sue, I was thinking of you, too. Glad you weren't alone when the storm came through and extra happy it missed you. Terri, lucky you to be able to see blue skies from your windows. Mine are so dirty!! I thought about making cc cookie dough. I have peanut butter dough in the freezer but my grandson is coming and I'd like to send him home with a bunch of cookies. :-) and turkey, too. OldFixer, you sure accomplished a lot today. Our electric never goes out for long, just long enough to have to reset the clocks. Hate when that happens! You deserve another happy hour round!! Seagrass, sure hope that storm has mellowed before it hits your area. My niece works in Boston and takes the train. Hope she's safe, too.

Grabbed some leftover Bulgogi from the freezer and made a stir-fry (beef, onions, bell peppers, broccoli, etc) over rice.

Glenda, if you have rain today we will, hopefully, get it in a few days. We love battered fish--at least I think Captain D's is battered.

Shirley, you come up with the best ideas. That sounds so good. We decided to have meat loaf sandwiches on Italian bread with Muncho chips. Not very nutritious but it sounds better than peas!

Azzalea, I still haven't made bulgogi. I loved it in Okinawa many years ago and the leftovers will make a great stir-fry. Yum!

It's officially Autumn, so Sunday dinner is now winter food.

Pot roasted eye roast with small red skinned potatoes, whole onions, carrots and mushrooms.
Green vegs were broccoli and asparagus.

Fresh baked vanilla wafer cookies and ice cream.

Even though it's been a lazy day, I'm still exhausted from watching the Ryder cup. Exciting as it was, it had a very sad ending....for USA anyway. This morning I took some chili out of the freezer and that's what we're having. It's been a pretty day here, but a little on the chilly side. so, chili for chilly.

I fixed food and took to Amber and Mike's this evening. Cream of potato soup, chili soup, smoked ham and smoked turkey with cheese and mayo on Hawaiian rolls, deviled eggs, macaroni salad, two kinds of cheese, chocolate chip cookies and Amber had a great big variety cheese cake for us all to have.
