Xuan, You have lots of lovely pollen there, and at the least, you can use it on some of you lovely peachy crosses that you posted some time ago. Every attempt I've tried at selfing a double hasn't taken. But.. on several occasions I have had a partial stigma with maybe 1 or 2 lobes.The next time, I would try cutting the partial stigma deep in the flower and dousing liberally with pollen. It can't hurt, and who knows some day one of us will get lucky. I don't think that I see a partial stigma on your flowers though, but it doesn't mean that there isn't one hidden in there. Here is a picture of a very short stigma, (you can see the 3 chambers and 3 lobes) on my Indian Fairy. I should have cut this stigma before I applied the pollen, (I did apply much more pollen than shows on these pictures) of course, one never knows if this variety is self sterile, so all attempts may be for naught. I wish you luck and with your bounty of pollen you will be able to pick and choose what other varieties you wish to pollinate. Tantanman is correct, no citrus has "antibiotic" qualities. Citric acid, being very acid by nature, has some degree of bacteriostatic/bateriocidal qualities, but it is not an antibiotic by any stretch. And, you appear to be married to a very smart lady :-) One of the reasons why this book is complete hogwash astutely pointed out by your wife. Now, that being said, citrus continually are falling into the "superfood" category, and I am a firm believer in eating all those superfoods every day if possible. A short (but certainly not exhaustive) list of those foods would be: Citrus Coffee (yup) Berries (blueberry, raspberry, blackberries, lingonberries, marionberries, Goji berries, etc.) Onions Garlic Cruciferous veggies (broccoli, rabe, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, etc.) Nuts (almonds, walnuts, cashews, etc. if you're not allergic. Peanuts are not nuts, btw, they are legumes) Beans (especially black beans) Grapes (black & red, skin included) Red Wine (for above reasons) Hemp seed/Quinoa/Chia seeds Kale Cacao (very dark chocolate) Pomegranates Avocados Tomatoes Olive Oil So, incorporate all these foods into your diet on a daily/weekly basis, along with lots of water and you'll be doing yourself a great health service. I was sick this season so I didn't get to keep the garden size I usually keep, but I do have a -very- limited amount of seed. I've already sourced over 1/2 of it locally. I have enough for 4-5 mailings of 4-5 seeds. I also have the spare postage from the earlier offer to send it out without a SASE. I'll hold 2 of these for ferret/bdan for a while.
