Do you have a desk chair that leaks down?

I just hate it, every time I sit down it goes down. Do you have that problem also, what can I do about it? The chair is just over 3 yrs old.

I don't have such a chair, but I can imagine what you are experiencing, and I would hate it too! Apparently there is an air leak. Can you find out the manufacturer and contact them?

Check Youtube. They have some good fixes that look pretty easy.

Thanks for your comments. Yesterday I tried to climb the roof that is at 45 degrees to seal the flashing. But I finally gave it up because it is too difficult to climb it. The shingles have sand. It is very slippery. I will call a roofer to handle it though it is probably not difficulty to fix the problem, sealing it because by further carefully check the top of the furnace pipe in the attic; I did see light through on one side. The water must drop from there. I can fix the problem but I am unable to climb the roof at 45 degrees. Though I will call the roofer, I would like to hear what good ideas you have to climb the roof. If one uses a Harness, he still needs to climb to the top of the roof and nail on it before he can use it, right?

Do you have or use an upholstered chair in master bedroom?

We put an upholstered leather (and chrome) bench in our recently "renovated" master bedroom (pics to post someday!). I got it so we'd have a spot to sit while putting on our socks, shoes.... DH would always sit on our just-made bed (made-up by me, of course!) while tying his shoes, right on the nicely fluffed up bed pillows, and then walk away leaving them all smushed! Also, the spot where we have it just seemed to call for a bench! :) We don't use it for sitting and hanging out, except perhaps if one of us just sits down for a few minutes to chat while the other one is getting ready to go out or whatever. Surprisingly, neither of our cats has claimed it as her own!!! They both pretty much ignore it for some reason.

So many people with issues with parents...sad. I was loved, I had toys and gifts,dresses, dolls, books, sport stuff, games,I lacked for nothing . But as I got older, I think I tried to "recapture" my childhood. As an adult, I loved antique shows, flea markets, garage sales. Any time I saw something we had in our house growing up, I had to buy it. I even bought too many rose bushes and planted them in my garden, trying to re-create my Grandma's rose garden. I now have a linen closet stacked with doilies and tablecloths I'll never use, sets of fancy glasses too fragile to use, things like that. Oh, and on the funny side, my daughter cleaned out my bathroom just yesterday. She found eleven bottles of Listerine. I don't know, I hate the stuff, it burns... I remember buying one bottle because it did everything, whitens teeth, freshens breath, makes gums healthy, strengthens the enamel. I'm just always looking for something to make me happy.

Some FP faucets screw on, others are soldered. Either way, you'll probably need/want to open the wall to dry it out and replace soaked insulation. JM$.02W

After further thought, seeing as the chair is only 3 yrs old you might want to contact the manufacturer. You'll probably get a whole new pneumatic system. I did that once with an expensive office chair. The manufacturer was very nice about it.

I don't have that problem, I keep my chair all the way down as I am short. No help here.

I had the same problem, contacted the manufacturer, they sent me a new mechanism(at no charge) and I replaced it and it worked fine from then on. I'd give them a call - if you still have the booklet for the chair - it should have an 800 # in it. At 3 years old - it's possibly still under the guarantee.

I have had 3 chairs that do that. I figured it was students and other adults being hard on them, but maybe they were just cheap chairs? I'm glad you asked, Joann, because I'd like to know if there is an easy/cheap fix too.

Mare, what words would you suggest using for youtube? I'm not having any luck. The last two chairs we bought for DH have done that. It's kind of funny, though. The leak is slow, so he doesn't realize it's happening until he finally feels like he's practically sitting on the floor, LOL.

I have big blue exercise ball that I use as my chair! When it gets too soft I just pump air into it, lol.

Cheap chair, so it does it all the time. I just keep raising it? But it's not too big, which is what caused my back problems. I needed small and light. Got what I paid for.
