Quiche for me! And your dinner plans? Fri, Sept 20!

{{!gwi}} Dearest friend and I met at Bella's. Planned on our usual, their yummiest spinach salad, BUT they had new crab additions, today.

So I chose crab quiche with a garden salad that had green peas, chopped carrots, and tomato wedges. Mine looked just like the picture.

Viv had the usual spinach salad and gourmet crackers.

Both were delightful!

I had a really good time with my 3 daughters and little Granddaughter today, as our neighbor town had town wide rummages along with the Heritage days. We spent most of our time driving around and going to rummage sales. I really did not buy much, the girls picked out some fabric for me and I bought some and they also picked up some canning jars I needed or will need. They all got things they can use. We had a rather late lunch or it seemed so but probably because we got out early. Ate at Richard's and we gals had the Favorite burger and the salad bar. Alyssa ordered grilled cheese and fries! After I got home the second time, for supper, I had beef sausage sandwich and apple sauce and chocolate milk. Got to keep up my energy, going out again tomorrow with Cheryl.

Pasta,tomatoes,hamburg-mixed up,etc.

Glenda,your dinner sounded really good! Nice that you had Viv to dine with

Hi, everyone. Sorry I haven't been checking in. My husband has a medical issue and I have been submerged in that. I think I mentioned a few weeks ago he had blurred vision and went to both opthalmologist and primary care physicians, who determined it was due to his diabetic condition. Prescriptions were adjusted, and eye drops prescribed. He's been going back for follow ups, and it was decided to schedule some MRI's, just to be safe. A small "enhancement" on is cerebellum showed up. He met with a local neurosurgeon who said he was puzzled as to what it could be. That it could be a tumor, or a cyst, or something he was born with. We sent the scans to my husband's uncle in Florida, who is a retired neurosurgeon, and he too, couldn't tell, due to the non-contrast imaging. He did say he was concerned because the enhancement appeared round, which is how tumors show up (even though the two local doctors said they didn't think it was a tumor.) It was decided that he see a neurosurgeon at Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans, which is better equipped to handle this sort of thing, so we see a doctor there on Tuesday. I would appreciate prayers that this is nothing serious and/or that the neurosurgeon can easily take care of whatever it is. I am one of those who instead of losing their appetite, will eat the house if possible, when I get stressed, so I've got to get a grip on the situation. I hope I have good/promising news to report next week. Hugs to all who need them, I could use one about now.

This is one my kids and DH always loved. We were doing this before chicken nuggets were around. Don't make it much any more - maybe once a year. I just don't fry anymore. Kids are both grown and married now. Little Chicken 4 chicken breasts cut into bite size pieces 1/2 cup flour 1/2 cup milk 1 egg Seasoned salt if you want it Mix all together. Add chicken pieces. You can cook immediately or refrigerate for a few hours. I prefer to mix it in the morning and then cook for dinner. Put oil or Crisco in skillet about an inch deep. Heat oil on high, then cut down a little. Drop chicken pieces in, keeping a single layer. Cook on both sides until golden brown. Kids will love this. My two boys (and sometimes DH) would stand and wait for me to take it out of the skillet. They would usually eat about half of the chicken before I ever got it to the table. This is so much better than any of the fast food nuggets or the frozen ones.

Veggies all prepared, marinade made, strawberries cut up and marinating, just have to make some croutons and tear up the lettuce for the salad. Cellulitis seems to be clearing up. I was so lucky to catch it so early. Bitten on Thursday, started meds on Friday. Meds making me a little woozy. Talked to a friend today and she said her husband was playing golf a few years ago, bent down to pick up a twig, it had thorns on it, scratched his arm, got cellulitis, but like me, knew nothing about it and didn't have it checked for days. Wound up in the hospital, said the pain was so bad if they couldn't give him something for it they should just cut off his arm! Glad for once in my life I listened to someone. LOL Haven't played canasta in 50 years. Sounds like fun. Know you were kidding about bridge, but actually, I was suppose to have it here today. Had to cancel. Good thing because I wasn't planning on having to go to Richmond today. Maybe I'm getting too old to have so much fun! Everyone's dinner sounds yummy. I love to read this post. Get some ideas but most of all like to hear that everyone takes a night off and has either breakfast for dinner or an every man for himself night. Thanks for taking over for Patti, Glenda....and Patti, thinking of you and Harry and saying prayers for better days ahead.

My that quiche looks delish! Iplayed golf today. Played really well. It's always more fun when you're having a good day. Visited afterwards for a little while and then came straight home and reheated the sweet potato fries from yesterday's lunch and finished up the other half of my turkey and watercress sandwich. I've been taking it easy, playing on the computer and catching up on sone recorded programs.

Tonight for dinner I will probably eat the other half of my sweet potato and finish the crab stuffed shrimp from dinner on Wednesday night. I have some pretty good left overs hanging out in that fridge of mine!

That quiche really looks good. I had reuben mini-meatloaves w/mushrooms, sweet potato, green beans.

YEA for Yogalady~~~~our kitchen is all torn up, no cook top or sink til tomorrow~~so DH brought home Chinese take out on his way home from the gym;)

Salisbury steak with mashed potatoes and tons of gravy. I've been promising it all week, and just got around to it. Hubby is one happy, and full, camper. Don't know how one man can put away that much food!
