What's for Dinner ... Tuesday?

Off and on sunshine today after some morning sprinkles here in Ohio. It's really looking like fall now.

My main meal today will be great northern beans and a coney. If I want more, I'll have applesauce. I may not be back for comments as I'm watching The Roosevelts this week.

What are you having (or did you have) for your main meal today?

Beautiful, sunny day today and our whites dried quickly on the line today.

I heated up the skillet chicken and potatoes that we had on Sunday. Sauteed frozen corn and the last of the eggplant (breaded).

I made a great roast beef with potatoes, onions, mushrooms, and I roasted carrots separately. It made a wonderful thick brown gravy to go over rice. It was wonderful. Had the neighbors over for dinner and a visit. I had picked up some home grown tomatoes at the farmers market and sliced up some of those too.

Raven: Your meal would suit me to a "T". frankginakay: I'm glad to hear you were able to get out today. I like my own food but I really like going out too. Georgysmom: Sometimes a burger just fits the occasion, especially when in a hurry. Janey: I hope I remember to get some bacon soon. I like canned pork n beans too. Suzi: Your meal sounds so good. I really like pork chops. Kathsgrdn: An easy/peasy meal with leftovers ... good deal. Is Lauren home from school for the summer? Alice: That casserole sounds interesting. Wish I had a taste of it. Of course, your dessert sounds terrific. Pam: Congrats on your move. When is moving day? Aren't you glad for fast food places for times like this? Rhizo: I use dill weed in my salmon patties too. My husband has said he will grill the nice bone in ribeye steaks we picked up and I am cooking fresh corn on the cob to go with it and sliced farm tomatoes. Beautiful day but oh so hot!! still over a hundred right now and will likely stay there for a while. I am headed to the atrium to turn on my sprinkler system I have set up in there. I can make it rain! LOL the plants and birds love it!

We had an unplanned dinner guest. My daughter's first husband had taken their son swimming, and got back here just as dinner was coming out of the oven. The kitchen smelled so good--I could tell he noticed, so I invited him to stay. We all shared a pleasant meal--my daughter, her husband, her ex, and their son. I'm so happy for grandson's sake that everyone gets along.

BLT. We had another beautiful day here. I brought my sister home from the hospital today which is a long process always and brought Lilly dog home to her.

Never had the need for a summer vacation, but right now I'd love to head for a spot that's 35ÃÂ° warmer!! This is a bunch of crap, way to early. Happy Hour at the sandbox is much more relaxing. Tonite is spaghetti with fresh garden tomato sauce. A simple slice of toaster Garlic Toast. Baked a cake, so ala-mode would be tasty. Doesn't matter what's on TV ...... ZZZZZZZZZ.

Shirley, I'm watching The Roosevelts, too. Really enjoying it.

I was suppose to play bridge tonight. Forgot all about it and had been putting off straightening up the houseÃ¢ÂÂ¦.a little dusting, a little vacuuming because I have book club here tomorrow morning. When I got home from golf today, I iced my back and just rested for a couple of hours. When I decided I needed to get to work I remembered bridge tonight. Luckily I was able to get a sub. We're having left over Chinese because I was clever enough to think that part through yesterday.

Sun finally came out and amazingly it got up to 66! Average high is 79.

Pork roast, with asparagus for the missus and wax beans for me, along with a coupla cherry tomatoes from the garden.

used up my last chunk of pork loin I had....reheated and shredded for bbq..added a bunch of slow cooked onions for on top!

now to find another one as soon as they have one on sale....sams' hasn't had a good buy but understandable what with the lack of pigs...

Planked some salmon on the grill, fried up a few zucchini patties, and fixed a colorful crunchy salad.

We've been watching The Roosevelts, too. TR was something else. I've been listening to live recordings of some of his speeches ; quite stirring.
