What's for Dinner ... Friday?

I am getting spoiled with all this very pleasant weather I'm having here in Ohio.

I'm fixing beef and noodles for my meal. Don't know what I'll have to go with them....maybe nothing.

Is your meal anything special today? I get so many ideas from what all of you post.

Not very special, bbq chicken legs, sugar snaps, and diced tomatoes and onion salad.

Nice weather again for a busy day here. If I decide to eat anything for supper I will just warm up some beef vegetable soup for myself. I had a late cheese burger today from McDonald's. Love this weather.

Busy day today (really, about the last 10 or so days) and we're doing our easy fall back dinner. DH is outside roasting potatoes and will do a quick steak on the grill, I'm going to just steam some asparagus and rinse some blueberries for some antioxidants... I think I'll do a nicer dinner at some point this weekend, I somehow have a sale ham in each of two refrigerators, use by dates on both first week in June. One I'll freeze, the other I'll cook. We'll probably be having ham with au gratin potatoes, ham and bean soup, ham and eggs - all next week ;)

I had an enjoyable husband-less evening last night. He went night fishing with a buddy; left around five and returned after eleven. I collected some garden veggies and made a quick stir fry with some thawed frozen shrimp, garlic, and ginger. Plus a nice glass of wine, long gab sessions with family and friends, Orange is the New Black binging, and I was a happy camper for a few hours, lol. He sent me text videos of the water, of fish they caught (and released), of bats swooshing around the boat lights, of the sunset, and even of their hilarious banter. So I had a great evening!

Just made some Caesar salad dressing and topped the salad with blackened salmon for DH. I was too tired to eat myself. Maybe in a little bit. Returned home from a golfing trip with the ladies….3 days of golf and late nights. Took one day off except for Mexican train last night and played golf today. Looking forward to a quiet weekend.

Our landlords must have made a stop in Ohio Shirley! That happens to us regularly! LOL Hubby has the urge for a ham, so we bought one today and will have that with some potatoes and green beans tomorrow. I made a pasta salad and my Asian coleslaw.

We're having gorgeous weather. The fire at the air control office in Aurora meant no take-offs from Chicago airports all morning. I don't think I imagined that the sky was bluer and clearer than usual. (I remember seeing that effect after 9/ll when all planes were grounded.)

Costco stuffed peppers, corn and dinner rolls here.

Beautiful day, today! Water aerobics, then friend and I spent the day together.

Went to our famour Bright Star Restaurant. Meat and three veggies.

I had snapper almondine and veggies.

She had their snapper throats, which Bright Star is known for, plus veggies.

She took home slices of their homemade cheesecake baklava.

Then off to shop!

I went out to lunch today with some Election co-workers for Chinese food so I ordered an extra House chop suey so I won't have to do any cooking for a couple of days. I had lemon chicken for lunch and still am quite full so no dinner tonight except maybe later I might heat up a cup of the homemade broccoli soup I made the other day.

We've had nicer weather in September than in all of August. Just gorgeous.

I did notice today that trees are changing colour AND dropping their leaves already. A tree in our neighbourhood has a lot of orange leaves on the lawn!!

One of our favourite restaurants had a full-sized ad in the paper, with a coupon for 2-1 dinner. Not buy one, get the second half-price which is common everywhere. This was literally buy one, get the other Free.

So we went and had chicken souvlaki.

Lots of people eating out today, or having someone else do the work. Sounds yummy! It was a beautiful day here but still summer...warm and humid.

We've nibbled all day long on goodies that I've been preparing ahead for a family visit. Gotta sample for quality, right? So we're just having a crunchy salad tonight to fill in the gaps. (Not too many gaps, I must say.)

Raven: Your meal sounds good. Can you still get fresh tomatoes there? All gone in my area.

Sue: Isn't it nice to have something in the refrigerator, all ready to just heat and eat?

Chisue: Stuffed Peppers is in the the top of my recipes to fix on a regular basis. I hope you enjoyed yours.

Glenda: I'm glad you had a companion for your meal today. I think I'd like both your meals. Did you find anything to buy while shopping?

CherryFizz: Glad to see you posting. Wise thing to order extra food for another time. Homemade broccoli soup sounds great.

Jasdip: That sounds like a great deal on your meals tonight. In today's world, we can use all the help we can get.

I used my last 2 good tomatoes, most of the farm stores are closed. I am going by my favorite one this weekend to see what they have left.
Oh man that was some excellent salad, I could have had just that. Just nothing better than fresh.

Raven, I've been so sad to see my summer garden go away, too. I still have some tomatoes coming but everything else has been pulled and mulched. My fall and winter greens are doing great, though.

I mourn the loss of sun warmed tomatoes and summer squash.
