That sure does sound good to me, Shirley! After a few days of company myself, I ate more kinds of stuff not usually on my table, so will be happy to have heart healthy foods at every meal, like that salmon.

Did boost the tally to 20 weekends at the beach. Otherwise 70 is a bit cold, and getting worse this week. Ugh. The pressure cooked pork roast had superb juices for gravy, some became open face sandwiches. Some became bbq pulled pork. Some for Chop Suey. Tonite is tasty pork Taco. With Frozen Margarita. Just finishing up the first blender full now for Happy Hour. 172 days til Spring.

We're having a pepperoni and sausage pizza. We have a new place that opened by us a couple of months ago. You tell them what kind of pizza you want and they make it up and you bring it home and cook it when you want it. Everyone says it's wonderful. Only took about 5 minutes if that to get it. We don't eat pizza that often so I'm really looking forward to a nice hot slice. Yum. Not exactly heart healthy but I'm pretty good most of the time.

I am trying a new recipe for a chicken tortilla casserole, I bought a big pan of rotisserie chicken legs and thighs at Costco so I thought I would try out this very easy casserole using the meat. It sounds good.

georgysmom (and anyone else) if the "bake it at home" pizza place is a Papa Murphy's franchise, it's even less heart healthy than you think because the dough contains trans-fat. It's a shame because their pizzas are pretty good and also moderately priced. That info is shown on their website under "Detailed Ingredient Information" under "Nutrition"

I confirmed the problem about a year ago with a person in the PR department at Papa Murphy's HQ. She said they were "working" to remove the undesirable ingredients from their products but she was unable to supply a date by which that would be accomplished.

Today was a drizzly day, cooler than it has been. We're having cooler temps over the weekend with rain.

I've noticed that the leaves are turning and falling right away, before the tree has completely turned. Several trees have yellow leaves on the ground, and people raking. I'm looking at one out the window where the top half is bare and the lower half is still green.

Back to the topic at hand......I picked some kale out of the garden and sauteed garlic in olive oil, then steamed the kale. I forgot how much it shrinks, so I'll make sure I pick more next time :-)

I also fried some leftover boiled potatoes, and had sausages and sauerkraut.

Sesame chicken with pineapple over rice. This is one of my oldie but goodies using ketsup as one of the ingredients for the sauce.

That sounds intriguing Ellen. I think we should have a new recipe thread and you can post it!

Jasdip: Our weekend weather sounds like yours. I love to fry leftover boiled or baked potatoes. Sometimes I put eggs over them. Never tried kale but wouldn't mind digging into the rest of it.

DH didn't want anything, so I fixed myself Canadian bacon and scrambled eggs.

That recipe is a keeper! I used one can of the cream of chicken and one cream of onion because that's what I had. I didn't drain the rotels I missed that direction but it should be drained. It was quite spicy so maybe use less rotels if you don't want it really spicy.
The tortillas turned into almost like dumplings, very good.
Mine took much longer to cook because I had all the extra liquid from the rotels.
My husband loved it and wants it on the repeat list.

So, what did you actually have for dinner, snidely?
I, for one, hope that Papa Murphy's doesn't "remove the undesirable ingredients from their products". I love their pizza and am tired of the food police dictating to me what I can digest and what I can't. You don't want to eat it, don't patronize the place. Pretty simple!
We had fish and chips last night. Love that Arthur Treacher's recipe, with malt vinegar and homemade tartar sauce.

Snidely, thanks for the info. It is Papa Murphy's. I thought it was good but not as good as everyone was raving about. On the other hand, on Tuesdays it's only $10.00 with up to five toppings. The good news is, we don't eat pizza that often. The next time I go, it will be with just onions and green peppers. I hope they get the crust figured out in the meantime.
