Randy, I am sorry for your recent loss. When my dad passed away five years ago, I found myself in a similar situation. My only sibling passed away eleven years earlier and I never had the chance to grieve, but instead I had to take care of my mom. Can you or your siblings care for your dad for a little while? I am only suggesting this because the situation is still so fresh and raw. It may help to have a little time pass before you guys make such a big decision. You really want to find the right kind of care and that may take some time. After four years (and I am not suggesting you take your father that long by any means) of caring for my mom, I needed help. A social worker suggested for me to try a "BOARD AND CARE FACILITY". I live in California, so I'm not sure about Pennsylvania, but these facilities are located in a single family dwelling, in regular neighborhoods. If you go to the Care Giver forum on Gardenweb, I posted a thread a couple of months ago that gave an address for a publication that lists different levels of care for senior facilities. Again, sorry for you loss.

Totally agreed, Sylvia. PF, perhaps that's where you should start .... reassessing your thought process about this. Your response to Sylvia seems, given the quote marks you've used, sarcastic. If so, I suspect that that attitude and personality have something to do with this lack of desire. I apologize if I misread. Reading tone of voice online is difficult. I was also going to say when I saw the first response about planning date nights, to not have a date night with the premise or expectation that it'll result in sex. A date night should draw people together and build on their relationship, which in turn may build the desire for sex overall.

We lived in central FL for 30 years. Temperature extremes can be greater than folks realize, and HVAC costs can be huge in a poorly designed/built house. Although our coastal community never officially saw 100 degrees, it was consistently in the mid 90's for months at a time. The coldest we saw was 19 F. Our house was uninsulated concrete block, single pane windows, beaten down R-19 in the attic, and lots of air leaks. Power bills of $300 a month happened from time to time. They did other dumb stuff, such as putting the HVAC duct work in the uninsulated attic. Living in a properly designed and insulated house has been a revelation. We are in upstate SC now, with much wider temperature swings. This is where ICF really shines. We have small mini-split (ductless) HVAC units, as our house is too efficient for a traditional central system. Energy bills are comically small. Insulation, air sealing, low-E windows, large roof overhangs, careful lot orientation, particularly to block west sun, and high efficiency HVAC equipment all make a big difference in power bills and overall comfort.

There is an aunt in this book named "Joozy" It's a name I've never heard; have you? This would be a good book to give to someone who needs to eat more. There is so much wonderful food in it!
