Had you registered the unit with Bosch after the purchase?

You misread my post.....how do you think they knew it was never repaired ?....it was on THEIR records, which, if you understand, are in THEIR possession.

I thought I'd read it carefully, you seemed to be emphasizing the late or non-arrival for a repair appointment. Did they ultimately show up?

Appointments can always be rescheduled but fire hazards and defects are serious. What seemed more important to me was that you were never notified of a recall and you've clarified that you registered the purchase. Do I have that right?

My niece's Bosch (about 3 years old, needed to be fixed, and Bosch charged her 300 dollars for the repair. I told her she should have thrown it out and bought a new DW.

Actually Snidely's question is pertinent - though not to your immediate concern about being stood up by a repair person.

If the dishwasher is the recall from 2009 for ones made between 99 and 05, why didn't Bosch contact you years ago? If you had it registered with Bosch, they would/should have contacted you.

I also questioned not being contacted....but that cannot be undone.
Excuses are meaningless, just fix it I don't even use it much, unless there's more than the 2 of us or i'm using the bone china and silver (which will NEVER see the inside of any dishwasher).

hubster just had to repair the circuit board in our Bosch this week...it's probably under the same recall and it is registered...it's 9 years old and we are hoping to get at least another year out of it! whatever he did fixed the problem!

I hesitate to post lest I court disaster, but our Fisher Paykel dishdrawers are still going strong. New in 2001. I don't think they were as expensive as Bosch; both brands are highly efficient. There was an installation problem, but once that was taken care of...no troubles. One drawer is just right for a day's dishes for two adults and so conveniently high. (I have to remind myself to run the bottom drawer now and then.)

While you were busy typing your snide answer to Snidely, did it not occur to you that there was another explanation for them knowing the part was not replaced?
"Hello, this is monica_pa's DH. I'm wondering why you haven't replaced this fire hazard part on our dishwasher yet."
"Oh dear, Mr monica_pa. What's the model number?"
"It's XYZ123."
"We have no record of replacing a fire hazard part on a Model XYZ123 for a Mr/Mrs monica_pa; we'll send someone out straight away."
No need for you to have registered; if you're not in their records then it's a safe bet they haven't replaced the part.

I always thought my comprehension skills were OK, but clearly I'm losing it.

All this aside, did it get *fixed* yet?
