We just got power back! It was gone for over 48 hours since Hurricane Leslie - not nice!! No damage at our house but there were a lot of trees down and damaged buildings. here's one.

Weve got tons of little sparrows, probably have even more next summer. Also have lots of other birds.

When I was in the Sierras last month I stayed in a friend's RV three nights. The next RV over was a permanent resident/employee of the campground. As such, they built trust with some of the local wildlife. This fawn, its sibling and mother spent every night sleeping in their yard. I just discovered (ie, opened) this topic. He was on my porch about 10 days ago. But I'll share him anyway. I got home from work and he was patient enough to allow me to run in for the camera, and to photograph a few times. Haven't seen him since!

Thanks Jim! Actually, I was planning on cedar shutters. It matches the shakes on the garage. I know it's hard to tell, I was trying to cover all the black with something. The other option is to take down the shutters and beef up the windows with wood painted more of the cream color. I'm still deciding. :)

Party.....cool! Weeeeeell.......since I'm going to hang it, it needs to be toned down....not too bright. I have a tendency to get tired of things if I focus on them. :0) Also I was planning on a dark walnut frame, made from left over flooring, placed upright on the sides. Just yesterday evening I saw a hot air balloon over some trees in the distance. As I watched and snapped picture after picture, it got closer and lower, and eventually landed in the giant field right across the street from my house.
