Hi All, It was snowing on my way home from work today: ( Spring really in at a stand still. I think we are going to jump straight into summer, lol. Laura, I had to work on Easter. I kept joking that we were scheduled to work because management decided we were the heathens. I did have a nice Good Friday though. I went to the Broadway Market with my sister-in-law and her kids. It is an old Polish tradition to go there for foods like homemade candy and baked goods, see the easter bunny, buy Polish pottery and so on. It was packed as it always is pre-Easter. It is is a strange place because the whole neighborhood is now a ghetto, but the Broadway Market is still there. I could hardly carry out all the stuff I bought! I did buy two pretty Easter planters for my relatives that were in the hospital and I stopped to see them on the way home. Maryanne, I sure hope your testing went good. I've never had to do that for a job. Though this one I did have to do a drug test. Beth, Glad to hear most of the flowers survived. The winter aconites you sent me are still blooming! They are very cheery looking. They multiply don't they? Susan, I'm glad you are getting your family into shape. I know how it is. I'm afraid to leave Gary home alone for more than 2 days, lol. I'm sure hoping your brother will be ok. My cousin had to have her brain operated on for tumors about 2 years ago now, and she is doing good, so it is possible : ) Susann, I've not bought from them. I have bought from Forest Farm for odd items, so I can recommend them for that. They also have search by needs on their website. I'll put the link below. FWIW, I actually think buying them dinner in their "town" is a bit awkward and certainly unnecessary. To me, one buys a meal for someone who visits them on their turf, partly really to say "I have a great place to share with you". One also might buy a meal for those who are struggling or lesser off, or junior in some way (young relatives, employees, etc). Or, if one were a houseguest and wanted to reciprocate; or if you golfed at their club. In the situation you describe, ostensibly you are going a little out of your way and giving up some resort time to spend with them. And, it is their turf. If anyone should pay for the group, it would be them IMHO. I'd be a bit surprised if they did not. All of this is to say that I think you have no need to do or give anything, even if you expect her to give you a book. (Which is a minor enough gift that it does not require reciprocation). But, if you did want to give something, I would make it small and personal and, unique to your area of the country. If it's small enough, it hardly matters what it is as long as you like it. When a recipient receives a small gift they really can't be burdened by not liking/needing it , etc. And IMHO you live in an area that is unusual and interesting to most; I think something "indigenous" to your area is a perfect. A small bowl or box? Or even a small frame.

roselovr, thanks for the offer. Your house is gorgeous! We did finally make it to ATL. My checked bag didn't make it, but we got in last night and were so excited, I didn't open up the laptop all night. Each time our flight was delayed I let out a little "yay" because delayed is better than canceled and lots of flights came up canceled. The grounds crew did a fantastic job of clearing away the snow, but the airlines were having trouble getting pilots and crews to fly all the flights. We were in the air at 6:15 and my mom was feeding us before 9. Our kids were real troopers and handled it like a big adventure. I just feel terrible, though, for all the soldiers I saw stuck in the airport. They get such very little leave and had to waste so much of it stuck in an airport. There were many not getting out of there til Monday. I'd like to think that if I wasn't traveling with kids, I'd have given up my seat for a soldier to get home. Thanks for all the warm thoughts, everyone. It really helped a lot.

I am not surprised. They have been married for 72 days...the wedding cost more than $10 million; the ring cost $2 million. I think this is a case of more money than brains. She cites "irreconcilable differences". They haven't been married long enough to try to reconcile anything, IMO. I wonder if she's even had time to write thank-you notes for the gifts, and will she now return them? I have never been a fan of the Kardashians, and this proves my assessment of them was right-on.
