The heat and humidity returned today. It's now thundering and raining.

I made another big pot of vegetable soup today. The last one was so good, and we have some in the freezer, but I wanted more. :)

We had chicken breasts, fried potatoes and steamed green pole beans from the garden. They are nice and sweet, I've never had them before till earlier this week when I put them in my last soup. They're in this batch of soup too.

Stuffed Green Pepper. The sun came out, so off to the downtown food fest (part of race weekend). Also First Friday, they give away free booze. Happy Hour, again.

I have two sausage/cheese quiches in the oven. One for tonight, and one for later....maybe later tonight!

It's cooler today, but the humidity is off the charts. I wish it would rain and clear the air, but it seldom does here in southern California. In fact, water rationing was just instituted which puts the remainder of my stucco repair project on hold. Oops, sorry, I got off topic.

Tonight, we are having cold chicken salad over mixed greens with a few grapes and apple slices thrown in for crunch. A scoop of coffee gelato for dessert.

I am cooking oven roasted potatoes to go with country style ribs.

DH had a TBLT (turkey bacon) and I had a pretzel roll. Played 18 holes of golf todayâ¦.misting most of the day. Stayed for lunch which was a petite Greek salad, so that was my dinner.

Jasdip: Send your heat/humidity to OldFixer. So now you'll have a well stocked soup reserve on hand. Your meal would be great in my book.

Cheryl and I picked green beans this afternoon and it was really hot. She pulled weeds after I came in the house. I cooked a kettle of green beans and later put biscuits on top to steam. We had not eaten lunch so we ate what we had on hand this evening, green beans with biscuits, sandwich spread sandwich and French Vanilla cake I baked this afternoon. It has cooled off this evening.

Found a too big zucchini this morning (how do they hide from me?) so decided to stuff it. Rice, quinoa, onions, peppers, tomato, with a little panko for crunch.

Had a little side salad, too.
