After I couldn't get in my regular gas place, due to car lines and a big disaster relief State Farm mobile was filling up, I had to move on down the road and fillup.

No telling what gas will be tomorrow.

I paid $3.53, and right next door BP is $3.65.

Jane, These are all SOOOO beautiful. I have Three Wishes also, I love it. It struggled some this year because of lack of rain for so long and 100 degrees for a week. Emphatically YES they are better than those of years ago. In answer to your list: 1. I used Seventh Generation dishwasher liquid (or powder) for years with great success. I now use Finish Powerball tablets, which I break in half, using only half each time with very good results. Most new detergents work using enzymes to break down the dirt. 2. Indeed, no etching of dishes - this was usually because (as I understand it) of the old, harsh detergents. 3. They are much more efficient with water use, both hot or cold, using far less water than old models. 4. Many newer models don't have heated drying at all - for example, my Bosch has a stainless steel lining, which allows the steam to condense on the surface, and drain away at the bottom drain. No heat is required for drying. It can take longer, however, as you need to keep the door shut to complete this process. 5. Many new machines have a 'quick' cycle which is perfectly adequate for most needs, as well. Nowadays, the types generally fall into two, which are sometimes referred to as 'European style' and 'traditional'. Basically, the 'European style' has no heat drying cycle, using the stainless steel condensing system, and has no macerator, merely a filter which should be rinsed periodically (I probably only do this every 4 months or so, if that, so not onerous). The more traditional style has a macerator for grinding up food residue, which makes it noisier. Whichever type you use, please be aware that you should NOT rinse dishes these days - just scrape. The new detergents need something to 'work' on, and if you pre-rinse, they will not work effectively, plus you waste more hot water. Whatever you decide to do, I hope this gives you some starters for ideas. I you use the search facility for this forum, there are lots of discussions about various brands and types. You should also be aware that there are now different sizes available: 18" wide units (I've used these in rentals and they're great) and dishdrawers.

You are right about the shipping! a 70+ pound machine isn't cheap to ship, and there are no dealers anywhere near me. I have sent e-mails with pictures about each problem and will include those and the responses when I ship. I like to cover bases. You don't have any idea where the oil came from do you? It may just be a new machine thing, but I would like to know for sure. beverly

Oh, these days after recovery are not easy. I hope you are following doctor's instructions. If you have not been in touch with him/her since the fever started and blood in the urine, I would suggest calling TODAY. (Even if you are feeling better. Better safe than sorry.)

Was told the Disaster Relief mobiles, are around here, as it's a good area for them to leave and reach a point of destination wherever Isaac relief is needed.

I just filled the little car today-the equivalent of $5.26/gal here-and that was the best(cheapest) in the area!

Well, seeems Isaac veered towards Louisiana but we'll get the rains the latter part of the week.

Needed gas cause I have two kids to take to the dentist tomorrow, and it's a drive cause they don't live in my area.

We just got home from Louisiana and we saw lots of the electric company trucks headed south and a line of the big tree limb grinder trucks. They will be close by and ready.
The interstates all had the big electronic display signs saying warning hurricane in the Gulf be prepared!
When the time comes they change it to evacuation route.
I have been praying it would just fizzle out but it keeps moving more towards my family area. It is really looking like it is headed down the path Rita took and that would be really bad.

We gassed up right before Houston and paid $3.69 which was 20c more than we paid the day before.

Glenda, I waved HI! as I drove past B-ham this afternoon. We were evacuated from Gulf Shores this morning and are heading back to Chicago. Short vacation for sure, we only arrived on Saturday!

I find it funny that people will drive miles out of their way to find a $.03/gallon cheaper gas price, when you break it down you have saved only 45 cents on a 15 gallon vehicle. Anything over 10 cents difference when it is within a block of each other I understand, but I look at it "I need gas, here is a gas station, fill 'er up!"

Last Sat. I paid $3.05 with my club card discount. I was happy. I only need to fill up every two weeks.

Our gas prices jumped 12 cents last week to $3.55, and we're nowhere near the coast....go figure. Haven't been out today.-)
