Whats for dinner Friday?

We haven't had fish for a long time and I have 2lbs of nice Tilapia fillets so I decided I will make Chinese Steamed Fish & Fried Rice

This will be quite an adventure for me. My mom will be here today. She lives in Florida. Was raised in the mid-west. She's often mentioned, with great longing, breaded pork tenderloin sandwiches that she remembered as a child. I hope I have run across the *perfect* recipe for that sandwich that brings back fond memories of almost 70 years ago for her. *fingers crossed*

Since we are having a cool day at last, I have potatoes, fresh carrots, garlicky pork chops and golden mushroom soup in the crock pot, Salad will be lettuce with sliced fresh tomatoes. Beginning to smell good!

I also wish more restaurants would offer half portions or something similar. I'm not sure about dinner yet. It's 8pm & DH is working an hour & a half away. He'll probably end up grabbing something on the way home. In that case, I'll just make myself a sandwich & have some fruit & yogurt. I have enough stuffed pepper mix to make a batch tonight, but I've had a headache for several hours & don't really feel like doing that. It's actually supposed to be sunny here tomorrow. I'm trying to get some household things done in spite of the headache so I can spend some time at the pool tomorrow.

Glenda, he liked it a lot. But he would've loved those fried chicken thighs. Georgysmom, I won't have to cook tomorrow either. My potatoes was huge and Harry's dinner serves 2 (or in his case 3). Joann, I've never made or eaten potato pancakes that I remember but people sure do love them. I would like the veggies in teriyaki--how did you do that? Lindalou, just be glad Jim's getting rid of something in the frig. But your dinner sounds better. Sue, you really are working way too hard. Hope you can get a break from all that hot canning for a few days this weekend. Really, you need a break, my dear!! Shirley, that sounds so good. Thanks for the milk tip. Wish I 'd read it before dinner. I will do that on the leftover potato tomorrow. I had quite a bad time of it so drank a Kellogg's Special K drink and ate some Kozy Shack tapicoa. Jasdip--wow, what a great price on Napa. That's probably my favorite cabbage. And it's so pretty!! That's a good way to package the peaches because people think you squeeze them to see if they're ripe--wrong--just smell them. I hope there were vents in them. Raven, all good things must come to an end--sigh! At least you know your DH is going to be a happy guy tonight (happy to see you even more than the home-cooked meal).

Oh, Patti, and here I was complaining about my overly busy day and how tired I was............and mine was nothing like yours. Rest well. Glenda, they opened a deli in my small town. I guess it's been there for a while, but I'd not heard of it. My 4 sisters and I went there today. They got chicken salad on a croissant, but I got a roast beef. You got a choice of potato salad or soup, and your choice of coffee, tea or pop. The sandwiches were all huge and none of us could eat more than half. I lucked out. I not only brought home my half sandwich but one of my sisters as well. So my evening meal was free. Shirley

Glenda, those darned love bugs drive me nuts! I noticed one on the car this afternoon. Hope you asked the Ashley Mac to put the spinach tart back on the menu. Did you have the sour cream biscuit?? Jasdip, do you have your heat on at night? Or just enjoy the coolness? We have the worst Chinese food around here. On the other side of town, there must be 5 gigantic Chinese buffets. Wish we had our favorite small Chinese place we had in Dunedin. Such fresh tasting food. Shirley, I'd be right over if I could taste right, darn it. That sounds so good. We're all eating egg salad, seems like. Hey, it's good to share meal ideas, right? Georgysmom, glad you played well today. See practice pays off!! When does the bathroojm makeover start?

Sadness, it's the last of our spring-frozen fava beans. Next year, we'll freeze more!

We'll have DH's favorite. Pappardelle pasta with diced ham and fava beans in cream with a bit of parmesan. Green salad on the side.

Barbecue sandwiches with pork barbecue from one of our favorite BQ restaurants with slaw and chips. I'll raise a glass of reisling for TGIF.

We just got home from having lunch and a visit with my step-father.

He took me out for lunch for my birthday, along with hubby and my aunt (Mom's sister).

I'm still comfortably full. I had bruschetta, baked ziti and tartufo for dessert. There was bread to go with our meals as well.

Like Jude, I'll raise my glass of iced tea that I'm drinking, to TGIF! Hubby is out mowing the lawn to work off lunch :D

The girls and I had lunch at Roby's Sandwich Shop. I had the Hoosier breaded tenderloin and just water to drink. It was so big and really good. I am not eating any supper tonight.

Tuna Salad. I'm the only one who likes and the only one home tonight so on this very warm day it is tuna salad for me. Looking forward to it.
