Just beautiful! Some people's weeds are flowers to others! I see you have the little mimosa weeds growing in your area too. That stuff has taken over my side bed. I hired my yard guy to pull it out last year and it's back. At least that's what I think you have in there. I love the hydrangea and all the pinks.

been awhile, had totally forgotten about this thread, thank you for the kind comments glad you enjoyed the pictures, because i sure liked taking them :) dahli22: I really like the poppies mixed in with the chervil too, and the best part about it is that i do nothing to maintain them ;), unfortunately i don't think the NoID plant is anything in the fritillaria genus. and yes i eat the sea kale and lots of it :D, i eat the flower buds, the stems and the leaves all raw, some people cook them but i haven't tried that yet. was just digging around in the computer and found some more pictures from the summer :) enjoy! more sea kale fuchsia, climbing hydrangea and clematis. again. and one last time wild roses growing along our horsepen old poplar growing a root inside itself small buttercops elderberrie in the back of our yard in bloom and one in front of the house the burial mount again later on the season with new flowers closeup with our house in the background :) and to finish off with some fall/winter pictures :) from october i think ' ÃÂ¨from november

you could use something like at the link.. to DRIP non-diluted RU on green tissue ... 2 or 3 drops per weed ... if killing saplings.. snip at ground and one drop on cut ... it will become inert on touching soil ... it since it must be applied to GREEN TISSUE ... it will not affect bark ... though i dont know how using the precision tool at the link you could spread it all over a tree ... short of a stroke or seizure ... return unused portion to properly labeled container ... ken Here is a link that might be useful: link

Thanks Olivia. Red Eden does just that with a group of 5 or so blooms right at the top of the canes. However, Red Eden is listed as a climber, but the canes are super thick and rigid. They are essentially unbendable. So far, Red Eden behaves more like a medium upright hybrid tea than a bendable climber White Eden didn't bloom much as at all last year, but I'm interested to see how it fairs this year. I have tied up all my roses vertically, because I'm trying to just encourage vertical growth. I want them to go the extent of the arbors, then after they are long enough, I'll take them down and bend them so it encourages more lateral canes and blooms. Right now my main interest in just in getting them to get as tall as possible. Red Eden couldn't bend even if I wanted it to as the moment. Renee, yes the street consists of the original Columbus city brick roadways. My small hometown also had them so I am used to them. They are perfectly fine and last forever, however they do tend to sink in spots making the ride rather bumpy and all over the place. I live near Victorian Village in Columbus. Most of German Village in Columbus consists of small brick streets.

The bouquet consists of: Zinnia, Tansy, Queen Anne's Lace, Phlox, Golden Rod, Hydrangea, and the little purple wildflower that resembles a thistle but isn't. I know we had a discussion on the Cott.Garden forum about this weed one time and someone came up with the correct name; but I can not remember it now. I'm posting an image of it from the internet.

This so reminds me of my mother.....we were poor as dirt, but she always brought in bouquets of flowers, greenery of some kind, and made beautiful displays of them. She loved beauty.

susie53, not quite sure about that. The flower in my bouquet is a weed, maybe I confused you by posting that photo from the internet thinking it was the weed in question. I'll try asking on the Cott.Garden forum again and posting back.

tobygirl! Knapweed it is. I had posted the question on the Cott.Garden forum last night and just read their answer a minute ago, confirming it is Knapweed. I wrote it down on a slip of paper. Better than what I came up with - "Snotweed". ha

Centaurea is the genus name of the pretty blue flower...lots of different species and many common names...including 'knapweed '.

Such a pretty bouquet!
