I don't know anything about Harris' checkerspots - I've never even seen one - but I've had good success overwintering chrysalids in my unheated-with-the-door-closed guest room. It stays consistently cool and dark in there, but never gets real cold. I don't mist them - if a chrysalis is sealed like it's supposed to be, you don't need to, and it seems to me like, by doing this, you're taking a chance of the chrysalids becoming dessicated over the winter, the same way so many of them do naturally. I'd think the constant wetness of winter has something to do with that. That's just my opinion, though. I don' know of anybody but you, bernergrrl, that's raised Harris' checkerspots. Andrew: I posted my last message some how missing your post about coming to Florida. W. Palm Beach is about an hour to an hour and a quarter drive north of me. But, if you are going to Miami anyway, I would be on the way. I am somewhere close to mid way between West Palm Beach and Miami. You are certainly welcome to stop by to see my yard. I don't know what I'll have in the way of mango in August. Much will depend on how early the season begins. We are still feeling the effects of Hurricane Wilma which was 4 years ago. Since that storm, and the subsequent loss of canopies on my mango trees, we have either had no crop (immediately after the storm), to light crops (the next 2 years), to a great crop.....but very early this past year. By this past August everything was done except for the later variety mangos like Kent, Keitt, Neelum, Valencia Pride,Beverly, Lancetilla and I think Golden Nuggett. No idea what next year will bring. Then there is the little mater of next year's hurricane season. The peak of the season is from August 15th thru September 15th. So, keep your fingers crossed. In any case, you are more than welcome to have any budwood you'd like. It should also be the beginning of jakfruit season again, depending. So...be sure to give me a heads up when you are headed this way. Harry

The second of two steps that suzieque posted, regarding removing books from your Kindle: "2) then go to Amazon.com on your computer and find "Manage Your Kindle". That'll show everything you've downloaded. Find the book you want to delete and on the right hand side under "Actions", click delete." I don't have an issue with suzieque's first step in the process, but I personally disagree with this second step. If your goal is to remove the book from your Kindle device to free up space (or for any other reason), all you need to do is step 1. What's the harm in leaving the book in your Kindle items in your Amazon account??? You have one heck of a huge amount of storage space in the Amazon cloud; and should you ever want to read the book again, or check something in it, etc., you can do that as long as it's in your account. Yes, if it's not in your Amazon account you can still download it again as long as Amazon still has it available; but even if it's available it might not be free at that time. An example: a book I downloaded for free in January of last year is Unbillable Hours: A True Story. I thought it was great, and told my husband (who is an attorney) that he should download it to his Kindle, too. But, it was $11.99 when he went to download it, so he passed on that and he read it on my Kindle. I just looked up the book on Amazon, and today the Kindle price is $8.99. If you use lisa_a's with 2 entrances to the pantry it may just vent itself easily as I'd imagine the pocket entry door to it from the garage may stay open or ajar frequently. You could possibly fit it in the bump back to match the entrance stairs. Fridges in garages are pretty common around here but we have more issues with freezing temps than overly hot. Otherwise I'd put it in that spot in the garage where the writing says small appliances for inside the kitchen. That's not far of a walk at all.
