DH had a Dr.'s appt. on Monday. What the oncologist wants to do is NO CHEMO--Yeaaa! There is a new pill specifically for liver and kidney cancer. It does not have the severe side effects of chemo. That being said, there ARE MILD side effects of nausea and MILD hair loss. She said it should also reduce the size of the tumor in his lung. Scans will be done at intervals to see if there is shrinkage. She still wants us placed on the transplant list, so they re-faxed all his chart AGAIN to Tulane. She said all they can do is tell us 'no'. The price of this med. is $900/month!! YEAH, RIGHT! BUT, she said everyone that signs up for it gets it FREE, and it will be mailed to our home. They filled out the paper work for us while we were there today. She said it would take about a week to get the med. Now, get this! Our appt. was scheduled for 9:30am. We got there at 9:00. We weren't called to the back until 11:30! 2 1/2 hour wait! I kept asking if they forgot about us. "No, mam, we've got alot of patients today. We both were sooo happy to finally get some "good" news! If you can call this good news. lolol

Great news, Jamie! Sorry about your wait, that must have been frustrating. But it least it means they take as much time as needed with each patient. Keep us informed of any new developments.
