I have had two out of three friends check in and they are ok. That was a big one, for sure!!

Downtown Napa has a lot of damage.

Heard from a friend in Pacifica Ca who felt it but is ok

I am about 35 miles south and it was quite intense and scary. Very strong shaking and then a rolling feeling. It lasted for a very long 20 seconds or so. Water was sloshing out of my inground pool, lights swaying, things ratteling in cabinets, etc.. Thankfully all is ok, with exception of some rattled nerves. I was also here for the 1989 Loma Prieta 6.9, so all those memories come right back.

It hit Napa valley - aii those broken bottles of wine! Oh my.

Been in the middle of a 6.0. Each upward number on the scale increases the intensity 100X. Would not want to experience an 8.0.

When we were stationed at Travis AFB I lived about 22 miles from downtown Napa. I love that town. My heart goes out to every affected by this earthquake.

It was such a treat to just pop in for a wine tasting, or pick up a snack at one of the smaller restaurants. Once I was planning a conejo alioli dinner. I decided I needed just a bit of white wine for the sauce. I told DH I was going to pick up some wine. Got home three hours later. He asked "Where did you go for wine; Napa?"

I gave him "the look." "There are people who save their entire lives for one trip to Napa. While I'm here I'm going to enjoy it every chance I get."

And yes, I brought back one small bottle of white wine, and local olives, and cheeses, and a yummy desert.

A cousin's son works at a winery in Napa. They had no damage to the winery, but barrels of a prior vintage were damaged.

Two other cousins live *on* a fault line in Oakland and had invested heavily in underpinnings after the last 'biggie'. They felt this quake, but had no damage.

Friends just moved into the immediate Bay area -- no damages there or at their daughter's 1-year-old home, which was just getting its' initial settling cracks repaired the week before this quake.

So... all's well until the next fire/mudslide.
