Those do grow fast! And I wouldn't worry about the cats having bothered them. These plants are very resilient. I'm constantly battling volunteer seedlings in my yard. The birds drop their seeds everywhere, and all all times of the year I'll find new seedling popping up out of every possible nook and cranny, among my flower beds, in my vegetable garden, and right up against the foundation of our house. I usually let them get to a certain size and then harvest the "palm hearts" for eating :) They taste just like asparagus and are so crunchy! Good luck!

I don't think Jamie was overreacting. She admittedly has trust issues that are very deep rooted and we saw that pain. Doug's lie not only disrespected her, but also his mother. A very immature response on his part. I don't think it was the first time he's lied in a relationship. I like both Doug and Jamie and I truly hope they make it work. I think it will take more work on Doug's part because Jamie is so emotionally fragile. I don't see Jamie giving Doug a third chance if he messes up. I think out of all 6 participants, Courtney is the most mature and logical. I think she and Jason have the best chance at success if he lets his guard down. Jason mentioned that nothing in his life ever turns out for the better. I wonder if he is just protecting his mom (and maybe himself) in case it doesn't work out with Courtney. After all as this is airing they are only 1 month into the marriage. I hope that Jason lets his guard down and allows Courtney to meet his mom, I think Courtney could be a great source of support to both. Vaughn and Monet are a train wreck. Very hard to watch their segments.

I'm sure the idea was more appealing than the actual fact. I hope Jamie and Doug make it. Same for Jason and Courtney. I don't think Vaughn and Monet will make it. I was thinking about that today....would I want to marry someone who was just like me? Oh, hell no!! I've been married almost 49 years and my husband and I are like oil and water. It isn't that we aren't compatible but I think because we aren't just alike is what makes us compatible. Within reason, of course. Would you....did you....marry someone who was very much like yourself? And, I have to add this....sometimes I think it is unusual when any marriage lasts. Sometimes it gets down to just realizing that no one is perfect, finding the good in someone, and molding yourself to fit. Not that you give up your entire self....but to make it work, it takes the old give and take. Someone asked me one time....how do you stay married so long. I said, "You just don't get a divorce."

Ravencajun, there was a divorce in the first year's show. The couple hadn't merged thoroughly, and were only together about a month and a half, so I'm guessing it was just one of those walk away with what you brought situations. They may also have them sign pre-nups off camera. The harder part would be if this weren't "an experiment" and a TV show where they're told they have to decide to stay together or split at the end of the show's timeline. I always wondered what that meant, and it may be that the show pays for the divorce if they decide to split at that time, or something like that. After that, it's like any divorce. :) Pickyshopper, for a TV show, I agree with you 100%. There's a certain amount of peril in being legally wed in a state where divorces take time. Peril makes for great drama. In answering, "So would YOU have ever considered being married at first sight?"my answer is no, but I might have considered being engaged and committing to a goal of marriage. What I definitely would not have ever done is do it on TV! My cultural underpinnings take engagements very seriously, and marriages even more so. I couldn't go into a marriage with the idea that if it just doesn't work out we'll decide to divorce in six weeks. This is also why Jewish couples usually have the signing of the marriage contract (which is, essentially, a symbolic pre-nup, but some people make it their actual pre-nups) right before the wedding. It has as much weight as a marriage, and is as hard to undo, so they wait until they're really sure they're going through with it. :)
