brokenhead, do you have a window air conditioner in your home? My sister and her husband have a window air conditioner in their diningroom and through the window each evening a little treefrog would always sit on the top of it. Then during the day, they would see him under it somewhere where the moisture/water was dripping. One day they didn't see him there. That night they went into their bedroom and there he was. What a time they also had to catch him! He would jump and attach his little feet to the side of the furniture. They figured that he must have come in through the vents in the air conditioner somehow. Here is a picture of mine. I had been taking pictures of the clematis in bloom and looked up and saw him. He must have thought that the clematis trellis was just wide enough to sleep on and didn't care less that I was getting closer and closer to him with my camera...except that he did finally open his eyes. They've been croaking here more this week, but I was hearing a few in Feb. and I saw the first eggs a few weeks ago. They went through a freeze, so I don't know if that affected them or not...time will tell. I don't think there will be as many as the last couple of years since we kept the water from collecting on top of the pool this winter. We heard some on and off throughout the winter. I noticed the Indian Plums were starting to bloom in the woods.

I'm so excited to see so many people can attend! And so relieved Husky was able to chage her flight!!! (Even if she did mess up my name!!!) :) It's great to have all our repeat atendees as well as some new faces!! Let's do Sunday since a few people prefer that day...so it'll be June 4th then! Anyone have a preference on time? Maybe 11am? Let me know if that's ok for everyone or if people prefer a later time. I started some major garden renovations this weekend, so we may still be under construction when you all get here. I'm hoping to have them finished by then though!! We'll ready for plants at least!! :) Magicman and deprived wife and any other newcomers, if you have any other questions, feel free to keep posting them here or email me (or any of us who have attended previously) and we'll be happy to help you out. I'm going to start a new thread where you can post what you have and what you want. I would also strongly suggest listing it under your garden_web trade list as well! remy, For your not-run-of-the-mill hosta, any requests? (Not sure I'll see your response in time, but hey...) I've got Golden Tiara, which is gold on the edges, a few unnamed types that are large-leaved and blue-green, a small leafed bluish type that I think is Blue Cadet... but if I don't know if someone wants it I'm not splitting any of it. They're just kind of big right now. By next year I'd have Little Black Scape ready for dividing, but I don't know if it's there yet. Or you could really disappoint your husband with a teeny tiny hosta. I've got three teeny unnamed ones with leaves the size of my pinky fingernail, and Pandora's Box, which is even tinier (that whole plant is the size of my pinky fingernail!) I don't know what everyone wants, so I'm just going to see what I can pry out of the hard-as-concrete ground. Wish me luck. Ruth, isn't it Sunday? The message says June 5th, which is a Sunday.

I sometimes have problems when there is bees in the flowers too! I hope your nose is better soon, Frog!

It is very surprising to me that Frog--intelligent as he is--would be asking this question. It seems more like a question that Nephew would ask!

To answer your question, Frog: Knowing the name of the flower does not alter the smell.

Frog, from now on, shake any flower first before you try smelling it so you don't get stung again.

No Frog; they smell the same whether you know the name or not.

I'll let you in on a secret though. Flowers do seem to smell better, and appear to be more beautiful, when I poke around in the gardens and see some of your kith and kin lounging under the foliage.

I've recently installed two "Toad Abodes," (or would that be "Frog Flats"?) in the north garden to help keep some of your cousins cool and damp. One is a homemade affair, the result of a cracked clay pot; the other is a fancy-schmancy English Cottage Garden-style "Hop-a-long Inn" direct from Ye Olde Thrift Shop

Don't tell anyone, but it set me back 25-cents. Do you know how many Junebugs that would cover?

Looks like Frog's bugstand is doing very well! Has he ever thought of taking it on the road? It is county fair time, in many places, and I've never seen a June bug stand on the fairway....

URGENT Message: Frog, drop what you're doin' and go to Google. There's a kayaking game going on and... lots of frogs along the stream are getting hit! Gulp! You need to go there and save them out. Bring a first aid kit! Hurry!!!
