My spinach casserole is what they always ask for. It is so easy and can be made ahead of time.

When I make deviled eggs I put green olives chopped real fine and mayo. They will disappear before any of the other kinds. I put a sliver of olive on top so they know that's what's in them.

Nita-I put olives in mine too! Not many people do.I also add just a little mustard.A little lady from our church always brought deviled eggs to church dinners.She put sugar in hers and they were so gross! Naturally everyone would pretend to eat them but they would always ask which ones were mine.LOL

I try to bring something different each time.I like to bring things that no one else will be bringing. I also try hard to stick to the theme if there is one. I guess I'm just noted for bring good eats because I rarely have to bring home leftovers and I am frequently complimented. People always look forward to trying my food.

If I'm noted for anything it would be my cakes. I do decorated cakes that taste as good as they look. No fondant and I use a professional buttercream recipe that is not greasy or crusty. Even when doing a shaped cake I always split and fill it with interesting flavors to compliment the batter. Bavarian cream and banana in a chocolate cake for instance. I use fresh fruits as often as possible when in season.

Same as wildchild. I'll bring whatever no one else wants to do.....I'm known to be a pretty good cook. Wildchild you can come to my party anytime!

I bring lots of different things. Often times I will bring more than one thing. I never come home with leftovers. When our Gold Wing group has pot lucks the guys will come and ask me what I brought. I love to cook and will often have a bunch of friends over for a big meal.

It depends on what we're having. If it's a fish fry, it's a given we always took the cheese grits. Picnics on the pontoons was always fried chicken or ham salad sandwiches. Summer evening dinners everyone loved my chicken and fruit salad. I can't find the darned recipe anywhere and can't remember the dressing. It had chicken, mandarin oranges, pineapple, grapes and coconut and I think it had green onions and water chestnuts. Shoot, wish I had that recipe!

For potlucks, I like to make something new and different using whatever's in season. Like Nita, I'd sometimes take several things. I love to cook for people who enjoy it.

If it's just to my daughter's house, it's chicken and dumplings. To reunions and gatherings, it's my potato salad or deviled eggs. It's funny now that I think about it, all these items are ones I learned how to make from my mother and I couldn't 'tell' anyone else how to make them, it's just a pinch of this and a dab of that. I think sometimes the best dishes are the ones passed down from generation to generation.

Shrimp salad or shrimp cole slaw but I will often take a pea salad that is made from frozen, raw peas....they thaw out and travel well. It has purple onions, celery, bacon and peanuts in it and dressed with mayo and Zesty Italian dressing. Different from the usual Le Seur pea salad...and I was given the recipe as "Pea salad for people who don't like pea salad" and that would be me.

It depends on the theme... For a fish fry, I am always asked to bring my home made tartar sauce and cole slaw.

If Mexican themed, then chicken enchiladas, or Taco Salad or cinnamon tacos.

If Italian, then I bring home made garlic bread, made with home made Italian bread, fresh creamery butter, fresh garlic and 3 or 4 different cheeses and some herbs.

But I am ALWAYS asked to bring a pie. I make mine totally from scratch, and always use fresh fruit. Even lemon merangue is made from fresh lemons..

Raspberry pies and other pies and yeast rolls. Sometimes coleslaw and deviled eggs. No olives in mine, my family wouldn't eat anything with olives in them.

My double chocolate brownies are a hit wherever I go. I have been making them for years. I also make various kinds of bars, usually with chocolate. We have fellowship soup suppers at church 9 months out of the year, so every Wednesday I think up something to bring.

Well, crud! With all the wonderful answers that are posted I'm gonna say paper plates and cups! LOL

LOL Des arc ya ya, the plates and cups are the most important part of the meal!!

I'm known for my desserts. I love doing decorated cakes and will usually create something to go along with the theme of the meal. I also bring along a tray of little tartlets, cookies and such to nibble on.

Oh yeah, desarcyaya, I'm really good at paper goods as well! Also the sodas. LOL!

I also make a pretty good potato salad. I'm always willing to chop up a green salad, fruit salad, etc.

Every Wednesday our local paper has a column by a great cook in which she shares 2 or 3 recipes. I always make and take one of her most current dishes.

They have always been a success. And it sends many ladies scurrying home to try to locate their old newspapers.

I took a Peach Dump Cake for Father's Day, and made it again a couple weeks ago for a barbecue. It got all eaten up, that time, too!

I'm known for my cakes - like Wildchild, I use an amazing buttercream recipe (French buttercream from Julia Child's "The Way to Cook.")

I'm also known for breads and other baked goods, and - since the Kitchen Table recipe - for my caramels.

A lot depends on the people. Peanut butter cookies, EZ bars, rhubarb bread, mud bars are probably the biggest things. I make some pretty good ribs and Porterhouse too.
