Anyone have Kitchenaid Convection Micro? Anyone???
Comments (4)I do! I do! I have a 27" MW/convection (without the oven underneath). I can tell you the good and the bad about it. Mainly I bought it because it matched my KA slide-in range and DH would not let me get another conventional oven. To me, it is a really expensive toaster oven. Here's the bad: - the microwave is underpowered. 900W is less than my old OTR microwave. You will notice it's lack of power when you go to pop popcorn - it is extremely hard to clean the faux stainless steel interior. The ceiling of mw has gunk on it that I just can't get off. - one of my pet peeves - no button to turn the turntable off (maybe they've changed this since I bought mine). To put a 9x13 pan in there you have to physically dismantle the turntable to the pan will bang into the sides of the oven. The good: - it pre-heats really fast (much faster than a conventional oven). - comes in handy for baking frozen snacks for the kids (I would never cook any kind of meat in there though, because it is too hard to clean the interior walls. I have had a few service issues with it in the five years: The interior light burned out. Requires a service call to fix it! Costly light bulb replacement. The rod in the door hinge has busted two times. You know when this happens because you hear "snap" when the pull the door down and there is no longer any tension in the door. Let me know if you have any other questions....See MoreAnyone have macular degeneration or know anyone that does?
Comments (16)My DH has this. He is no longer able to drive. He is diabetic and went through a period of denial - quit taking his meds, etc. He neglected his eyes and this is the result of that. Had they caught it sooner, he would be able to see better. For now, he gets injections in his eyes and laser eye surgery. He has had several of each since the first of last year. He uses magnifying glasses all the time. We just keep them laying around everywhere. His eyes are both better than when he was first diagnosed. They aren't promising anything, but as long as he keeps having small improvements and they continue the treatment, we are thankful. Bad thing is that we were planning to retire early, but now we can't. I have to continue to work to get health insurance until I am 65. I have a heart condition and he has diabetes and the eye problem. We are both uninsurable for all practical purposes. That is what hurts both of us. We worked so hard saving to retire and having enough to do a lot of traveling. Now - who knows. But, you caught yours early, so you should be in good shape. Just be sure you go to the doctor often to have them checked....See MoreHelp-problem accessing & setting up new Chromebook due to Gmail issue.
Comments (6)Let's take a deep breath and start over. I think for whatever personal reasons you have you've blown this up into much more than it is. It's a "lost password for Gmail" access issue, not a Chromebook one. The Chromebook wants a Gmail address to reference your connection. Among the reasons why that's necessary is because Chromebook has limited onboard memory and MS Office-type docs - word processing, spreadsheets, notes, etc - use software from and are saved online in Google Docs, to an account tied to a Gmail account. You can work on such projects on any device, save it to your Google Docs account, and then access it from any other device, including the Chromebook. What sets your saved docs apart and limits access is that they key is your gmail account name and password. That tie-in gets set up as the Chromebook is set up. There are probably other reasons too. End your suffering by using a Gmail account you can access. Remember for this and all other accounts, use a system (whether on paper, using a password app, a text file, or whatever) that's always available to you and easily accessed so that you can find your passwords and update the list when you change one. There's no need to send Google a photo, nor to worry about consequences of a privacy invasion. I hope your other aborted efforts with Gmail accounts you've lost the password for haven't poisoned the well to prevent an easy setup of this Chromebook with a working account. If so, call Acer Tech Support to get it straightened out. Good luck....See MoreDoes anyone have experience with Sarto doors? I have a mid century mod
Comments (5)We have a set of Sartodoor double barn boors and a set of matching french doors from United Porte. They look gorgeous and go up pretty straight forward. However, the vinyl wrapping on one of the doors is bubbling/separating from the wood and the other came with the vinyl cracked/torn in an area. While they are sending us new doors, it still makes me wonder about the longevity of them. We also got the silk white color and while it is very clean looking and silky, they get dirty from the slightest touch of even a 'clean' hand. Further, they're not paintable, according to Sartodoor so we're stuck with cleaning them as much as we can but some dirt smudges are pretty much permenent; like pencil marks from measurements during install. Some of those pencil marks got worked into the pores of the vinyl and are permanent stains now. The door frame and trim is also vinyl wrapped and not paintable. So, screw and nail holes aren't really able to be caulked because the caulk turns yellow and dingy when not painted and the vinyl isn't paintable. We did paint a section of the inner door jamb where some sharpy marks and extra holes where made after mis measuring hinge screw holes. With Kilz, the vinyl did take some Behr trim paint. However, it is easily scratched off with your fingernail. Fortunately, the painted section is high and in the jamb where it's not touched. Don't get me wrong, they're great doors especially for the price. But if given the choice again, I'd go with something paintable, not vinyl wrapped....See MoreJasdip
