Oldish Farberware - A need or a want?
Comments (4)I have some "oldish" Farberware, going back to the early 1970's, as well as my mother's Farberware. It's the only cookware I kept after I remodeled my kitchen - it doesn't fall off the grates of my cooktop. I love it, and use it all the time. I especially like the big pots - for pasta, and for canning and lobsters. I have the 2qt saucepan, the 4qt stockpot, the 6 qt, the 8 qt, the 12 qt, and probably the 16 qt, too. The 4 qt is probably the one I use the most (after the two quart), for pasta, chili, preserves, making mashed potatoes when the whole family is over, etc. I couldn't get along without any of them. I did get some new heavy cookware after the remodel, but I find I still use the Farberware for most everything....See Moreelectric skillet heat problem
Comments (0)We replaced our older Farberware Electric Skillet with a newer version several years ago. Now the newer skillet does not seem to heat as well. We have to set it about 50 degrees warmer than we did with the older pan to get the same result. Fortunately we kept the old pan. Is this likely a problem with the cord/probe or with the heating element in the skillet?? (The cords are not interchangeable so we can't try a swap.) thanks chuck...See MoreElecrtic Skillets
Comments (21)LOL, my neighbors would smell it, and my old neighbors would have come over for some :) We can hear the neighbor's music by their pool. Tempted to yell "Change the station" sometimes, LOL! Renee, I googled Malasadas, don't talk yourself out of that, they look so good :) LOL @ the Maui Regency, Cathy! Helene, you do your latkes at higher than 350? Mine always burn! Trixie, glad you like the Cuisinart, I'm sure I will, too, it got tons of great reviews on Amazon. Funny but the few negatives made me nervous! gbrenna, I thought the same, the electric skillet heats pretty evenly for me, not so when I use a too big skillet on the stove! Beverly, like Ann, I usually don't fry in the electric past 350 otherwise everything burns. Maybe your temp is off on your newer one? Annie, it is good as an "extra" especially on the holidays. We used to use it to fry up blintzes So hopefully they'll deliver before the holidays, I have ten pounds of latkes to make ahead and freeze!...See Moreelectric skillet heat problem
Comments (4)most likely a problem with the thermostat in the control. If it really bothers you, buy a new control, they are generaly not worth trying to repair. There is no harm in just using the control and setting the dial a little higher....See MoreChemocurl zn5b/6a Indiana
