I have at least 1 swim suit, maybe two, but I do not swim. I looked up the "heavy girl in a bikini" story...are you referring to the woman in Hollywood? I wish I had her confidence, as I look a lot like her, only pasty white, but I'd still want more coverage than just a bikini.

I wear a pair of biking shorts, bikini top and a cover over it. I'm too old to show 'all I got'!!!!

I have a bunch, all one piece of two pieces that look like one piece. I never wear any of them. No, I did not see that story.

Anyhow, she got me to thinking, and I went out and bought me a bikini!

My favorite brand of swim suit is Delta Burke!

I always purchase Delta Burke, as I'm a plus size, don't even have to try it on, and always fits. Thankfully.

I own none~~I do not like going in the water at all, or even sitting our by the pool or ocean. I did when I was younger, but it just does not appeal to me anymore. I do not like to burn and I never tan;(

That picture was posted on my Facebook too and I said that isn't a bikini, but a 2 piece bathing suit like we wore years back. If she really had a bikini on she would look ridiculous. There would be much less material on the bottom half.

My mom, my aunts all wore "bikinis" like that. I used to wear teeny bikinis... and then, I quit, cause my ex's stupid words.

I just bought a bikini. Not a teeny one. I just need to go out, and get a tan above my bike shorts line... and on my tummy now. ;)

I have lots of swimsuits, since we had pools for so many years I was into different colors and styles. No bikini in the bunch! I do have some that are two pieces but of the tankini style. I also had lots of extas in various sizes and styles for people who came over with out a swimsuit.

I just watched the video of the heavy girl in the bikini and she said she wore here bikini in Copper Harbor Michigan, which is (of all places) just 30 miles north of where I live!! Nothing to do with the questions in this thread, but that really caught my attention!

I own one swimsuit. I used to own two (both one piece) but loaned one to my (then) 19 year old grand-daughter. She must have been awfully anxious to get in the lake that day, to actually borrow a swimsuit from her grandma! Sadly, that swimsuit never made it's way back to my house!

I think good for her and she should wear a bikini if she wants. But I don't want to. I'm not hung up over perfect bodies, but I also don't like displaying my 'rolls'. Neither do I like skin tight tops that display them prominently. Nor having a 'muffin top' with tight jeans. Personal preference.

Hey, I own more than one, and all one piece. But also have the ability to go topless! The beach is loaded with all shapes & sizes & styles of swimwear. I applaud all who like to enjoy the great outdoors.

I'd be happy for anyone to wear the swim suit of their choice. If I were overweight, however, I would never have been happy in a bikini. I had bikinis when I was younger but I love the tankini options today.

One thing for sure, there are some really gorgeous swimsuits of all styles out there.

I own several, but it's because my physical exercise is swimming. I don't care about a tan. Just got back from some place tropical, and although my hair was practically blonde (can't put sunscreen on it!), my skin was almost the same as when I left. I'm not into getting wrinkles early or having melanoma.

Which story? this one? or this one? I'm glad there's more than one! I hope there are a million. I'm not skinny (used to be), but I'm also not as heavy as these ladies. Who, by the way, have way more self esteem than I. Great for them. They are inspiring!

Exercise is hard work!!!! Portion control when eating takes thought and control.....it's all healthy choices! I'm inspired and impressed by people that go the extra mile!

Yes....I own at least 5 one piece suits. So I have a dry suit for a 5 dive day on a boat. I also own at least 4 bikinis. My body isn't perfect, but when I'm at home nobody sees me. ;0) I love to lay in the sun and just be warm.....listen to the birds chirping. (30 minutes is my limit, just enough to get some vitamin D)

Yes, I have 2 swimsuits. A tankini and a one piece. I do water walking in the lazy river at the aquatic center. I am 72 and don't mind being seen in a swim suit. I used to wear a bikini but in my mid 40s, my friends and I all gave up our bikinis in favor of one piece suits.

No, to all the questions. I don't like to swim and although I have lived within spitting distance of the beach my whole life, I can count on one hand how many times I have been there. I do like to go to the more deserted beaches in the winter time and walk and look for driftwood, etc., but the last time I went...quite a few years ago, I was disappointed at all the trash like old recliners and stuff like that, that was there. I didn't find anything interesting.
