I had a scam call from "The Government", about my state taxes. (Yeah, right.)

I've recently gotten several email spams supposedly from various parcel delivery services. They want me to click on an attachment to get a package they weren't able to deliver. Nope. Don't want that 'package'.

Oh, Seniorgal, I have to tell my friends in Florence, SC. Heather calls them all the time. I think she stopped for awhile too. I guess they target seniors.

I just moved and, knock on wood, I haven't had any telemarketers yet.

LOL we get calls from Heather also in Southern California. We screen all calls, yesterday I had about 6 dropped calls;(

I received another spam email today, supposedly from EZ-Pass, saying I owe for using the tollway. When I googled this I saw that it's rampant in most states that *have* a tollway system. (We don't even have a pass, and the last time we used a tollway we were able to scrounge enough coins for the hopper (90 cents) to make the light turn green.

If I don't know who is calling I hit talk then quickly hit off.

if you just let it ring you get a bunch of messages you have to take time deleting

I get calls from Rachel. I don't know what entity she is with. It's a robocall. She once said it was her last call, but she lied. The only reason I know is she leaves l-o-n-g messages on my answering machine when I'm not here which is maddening because it's a business line. Thanks to her, and other robocalls, I've probably missed business calls.

If I'm here and see a bizarre number on the caller ID, I punch the button to answer and then immediately punch the button to hang up, just to stop it from ringing and to prevent the call from going to the answering machine. Seems like they'd give up but they're annoyingly persistent.

That Do Not Call List is worthless.

Patti, I still use a shrill whistle and have one by every phone.

Funny thing though...I blasted that whistle on a call that kept coming in only to find out it was a friend using his cell phone and of course I didn't recognize the number. When he called from his home phone, he told me it was him who was trying to call me. Oooppss. LOL

I also wonder about that "do not call" list....We've been on it for years and thought it was working until recently..I've mistakenly answered the phone thinking it might be something important only to find a robocall...One time I did stay on the line to talk to a "person" to tell them, please take my name off their list, only to be told by someone in very, very broken English, to "shut up"...I asked to talk to his/her superior and was laughed at and told to shut up again and then they hung up...When I tried to call back, the lines were busy....
But, the latest calls are coming from Baldwin, NY and the # is 516 206 6815...After a few seconds of answering, a voice said, goodbye....I dialed the number back and there was weird music and something talking about the here after or something like that....Now they call every day but we don't answer..And probably shouldn't have answered in the 1st place.......

We should form a group and all send the same form letter to our phone companies, telling them why we are cancelling land line service.

The land line companies just try to sell you some additional "feature" that will "prevent" the annoyance calls.

The cretins are always one step ahead whether it's through constantly changing their number or their entity name.

The land line companies are making $$$ off the cretins, too.
