Where is Bull Dinkie?

I hate to ask about one person because I know there are several that are missing, but I was wondering if she is doing okay or going through a hard time or what. I haven't seen her post in a while.

does anyone have any of the old Chritmas card lists handy to see if she is on them? If so, maybe we can find her that way. I have mine at home, but I'm at work.

I'm of the same mind that the more durable and hardest to repair surface wins. In this case, the tile wins since the vanity is moveable. For a floating vanity (vanity attached to wall) or for a built-in vanity for example, the vanity would win. Compromises can be made. Vanities can be altered. You have a vnaity like the one weedy posted, with feet. The feet can be relocated and inset so they don't conflict with the wall trim. Even with continuous legs like the vanity that edwina posted, I've cut off the legs and rebuilt the bottom of the cabinet. Sometimes you can add aftermarket feet, inset, either stained to match, ebonized, or painted, and the cabinet looks like it was designed that way. Or based on the cabinet design, it might look better with a bit more trim or with bottom rails added on the bottom...or even building a small inset platform and setting the footless vanity on that. I've made base platforms and even included a pull-out drawer for storage. There are several ways to attack it. If you do decide to let the vanity take priority and you cut the tile around the vanity, order enough tile so if the vanity is ever removed you have tile to infill as needed. Make sure that the infill tile will flow across the room. ie, you don't want the tile layout to run from the left wall to the vanity. Done. Then have the tile run from the right wall to the vanity. Done. You don;t want two separate independent layouts. If that happened and you ever had to infill, the two independent field patterns might not match up. It simply takes a little more thought. Some ways are better than others, but not all people think the same or see things the same, so my "better way" may not be the same as your better way. It's a different strokes for different folks thing.

It's a MadMadMadMad world, Mad, at least over here in my housing development. If I would put a cage around something, the co-op manager would come running across the street from his office, his flab swinging back and forth, and scream at me that "the insurance people think that this is pointy and dangerous!" He has declared "pointy and dangerous" the following: the plastic Adirondack garden fencing put around my original garden under the plum tree that died; a wrought iron trellis my clematis was growing on (so I made a really outrageous one of swim noodles and put the clematis on that, until he made noise about that, too); pinwheels stuck into your garden (we had a memo about pinwheels in gardens, but no worries, I hate pinwheels in gardens); and plant pots NOT sunk into the ground (not pointy, but dangerous!). How I have managed to avoid his wrath about the half-dozen large ceramic pots scattered within the confines of my garden, I don't know. They are not sunk into the ground. He must be saving that for a slow day. He also had the "landscape workers" rip out a neighbor's Rose of Sharon without any warning or opportunity to move it, because "it was too close to the building" and had a perfectly beautiful pine tree cut down because---wait for it---it was "too close to the building". The only thing around here that's truly "pointy and dangerous" is this guy's HEAD. Haha, I took some spare bricks and made a 2-brick-high garden border wall at the corner of the extended area. Let the "landscape workers" and maintenance men watch their step. Since the maintenance guys repaired our shaky porch banister by encasing the lower end in a 12" square block of cement on the sidewalk that anyone could easily trip over, I think they have nothing to say about this.

Let's just say I'm looking forward to seeing it arise vigorous in its little pot, which is buried in the soil for the winter. Also gathering paper sacks to winter over my geraniums, "Hang 'em high, hang 'em dry". Eying the volumes of fallen leaves (we seem to have skipped the yellow/orange/red leaves thing this year) to gather and place over the bases of my rose bushes. Yeah, winter is on its way.

Yes that’s the problem with losing Christmas ornaments… For the most part it’s the memories. I downsized my ornaments this year and as well both of my sons had their own personal collections because I gave them each an ornament each year from the time they were born. Plus a few extra little sentimental ones that were always on our tree. So they had a starter collection. It’s so lovely now when I see my ornaments of many years, hanging on their trees! It’s very sweet. They are both in their 30s and this year I have one last ornament to give them and then that will be it. They need to make their own memories and collections.

On bulldinkie's My Page, she lists Farm Life as her favorite forum, so I went there and searched her name. She'd been active on that forum and it seems she may have some friends in that forum that live in her area. Maybe someone could ask about her over there..?? I'm don't know what the etiquette is about searching for someone and crossing forums.

I miss her, too, and hope she is well.

I don't think it would hurt anything to go over to Farm Life and tell them we have been worried about her...
And would like to know if she is okay.
If they don't want to give out any infomation to people they don't know...maybe they could pass the message to her.

I tried to do some detective work today. I wish I knew which town she lived in. I kind of know where it is, but there are a lot of towns in that area. I made a couple of calls to a company that might know something, but I got a recording both times. I left a message the second time. I don't know if I'll hear back from them or not.
