Very pretty!!

Whenever we travel, I try to find and photograph some. Many are not really that attractive. I don't think that they were built for beauty.

This one is on Nini Point in Nawiliwili Harbor on Kauai, Hawaii. Early morning in February.

Afternoon, same day, same lighthouse.

I'm very much a lighthouse person, almost to the point of it being a problem. :-) I was on a hike on the roads between Rockport, Maine and Camden, Maine and hadn't brought my camera, and found a small path going down to the waterfront on the Camden side, with the following view of the Camden Harbor Lighthouse. I had to go back to the car, drive back to my father-in-law's house, and return with my camera.

Oldfixer, this one is in my seacoast town and I got a great pic one day.

I love all the pictures everyone took of lighthouses.

I just read a book where the lady's father had died but had her go on the first day of each month to different lighthouses and read a letter from him each time. These were lighthouses on the west coast mostly in the northern part of Oregon and Washington. I learned a lot about lighthouses.

Thank you so much "Oldfixer" for your topic of lighthouses. I have been looking up lighthouses in SC & NC as I have lived in these states for almost 35 years. I didn't even know about most of the lighthouses here.

I was born in Michigan so I looked up lighthouses there too. I learned that MI has more lighthouses then any other state.

I have learned a lot and I've seen many different looking lighthouses. Thanks!

A lighthouse in Trinidad. Its about two blocks away from the waterfront, and situated in the middle of an intersection.

Assateague Light House on Assateague Island when we were there from the annual pony swim and auction.

Currituck Beach Lighthouse in Corolla, NC at the far northern end of the Outer Banks.

Owls Head Lighthouse in Owls Head, Maine, just south of Rockland Harbor.

Marshall Point Lighthouse in Port Clyde, Maine

This one is shown briefly in the movie Forrest Gump.

Rockport Harbor Lighthouse in Rockport, Maine.

Rockland Harbor Breakwater Light, which sits at the south end of a 4,300-foot breakwater which protects Rockland Harbor. The lighthouse is only open for tours one or twice a year.

These are just the ones I already had uploaded to my image hosting site. Did I mention I might have a problem?

Bob is the Lighthouse man. The only other one I've seen on (near) a beach, is Daytona.
