NOT ME!!!! But a Doozie.
A friend just treated himself.
The year is 2014.
The name is Corvette.

Very nice! Sometimes we just have to treat ourselves. Good for him!

My dad was into the classic corvettes. I even got to drive one, made me nervous at 18 years old as they are so low to the ground. I prefer being the passenger.

We're planning a closet -- typical hall closet size -- that'll have a lock instead of a doorknob; thus, it'll be accessible only to me and my husband. This closet'll have shelves top to bottom, and maybe basket type shelves on the inside of the door for bows, ribbons and so forth. The closet will serve a couple purposes: - gun safe - purchased-ahead gifts - gift wrap - a small amount of cash that we keep on hand As for buying ahead, I do pretty well with it. It's rare that I buy something that just sits around forever and ends up at Goodwill. When I wrap things, I just do basic wrap and use a sticky note to remind me what the item is. I add the bow at the last minute so that I can stack boxes without messing up th wrappers. I like the idea of putting your gift wrap items near the dining room. Practical and efficient.

I have got really tall ones at Dollar Tree but they are not deep in the bottom so not sure something really thick like a comforter would fit, you will need one that has a very deep wide bottom not just tall. The ones I got at Home Depot were deep and wide enough to hold something like that. I guess they carry them to hold all the big tools and stuff?? I have also found some decent size ones at Big Lots.

The tradition in this area is that there are big sales just after Christmas (marooned merchandise), so if I were considering getting something for myself that I'd wanted for a while, it'd most likely have to wait until the day after Christmas Boxing Day Sales! Actually, I've heard that some folks take a gift that wasn't hugely wanted back to the store on Boxing Day, to get the list price ... ... then go around shopping to get (more stuff) on sale. I'm more inclined to get needed stuff throughout the year, not more or less save up (for, possibly, some hinting around to family or friends) for hoped for receiving at Christmas. I share the view that Christmas is more for sharing, of giving of oneself, than of getting something for oneself. I think that as one ages, one feels less need for more stuff, especially as one looks forward to downsizing as one moves from a traditional home into an apartment, condo, etc. And after one has selected the stuff to shoehorn into the apt./condo and felt rather sad as one parted with the long-held, and valued, extra stuff ... one may not be enthused about giving scarce house-room to some new thing that one scarcely has any need for: would have preferred one of the items that had been given away, as there wasn't room for it. ole joyful

I just received a gift today, a pet supplement that seems to be some kind of practical joke that I have not taken well! I thought it might be a random promotion gone wrong, but Amazon told me it was sent by a person and not a company. They would not give any more details. The only option left that I can see is to deactivate my Amazon account and return any future Amazon deliveries to me unopened, with 'not known at this address' on them, because I will know that they are not something I have ordered. I asked the Amazon chat help person to send this comment to the sender so they don't bother sending me anything else via Amazon. I also asked them to share it with Amazon management but they didn't say anything about that. There is no option to block gifts, i.e. to only received deliveries from Amazon that you have ordered. They need this option in case someone is being harassed, which, in this case, I believe I am. It should be relatively easy to block orders not from your own account, but they said they can't do this.

I saw this model in red last night at the restaurant where I had dinner. I'm a car person, and long an admirer of Corvettes, but I didn't recognize it. I had to get closer to check out the emblem. Beautiful!

I love Corvette's. Hubby had a '75 when we met. I loved driving that baby! So smooth.
We sold it when we were expecting our son. We always blame the fact that we no longer have it on him. LOL
If I got one, I'd want a red one. They're still nice looking, but I prefer the older models. Sort of a nostalgic sort of thing.

We have one too... my husband bought the 2013, 60th Anniversary special. The last year for this body style, your friend's is the new body style. We have had several over the years and always red ones.... He calls it his "work" car... gotta work to have it!... lol

There's nothing more fun than a new or a special car. I wish everyone lots of enjoyment from their wheels.

There are lots of makes and models to choose from. The first car I owned was a late '60s model Chevelle. I drove it for 4 years and something less than 50K miles. I haven't owned an American car since.
