Ran to Winn Dixie and bought sausage and peppers from their Butcher Block.

Had it with corn on the cob cooked in its husk in the micro. No butter or salt needed.

Turkey breast from the other day means leftovers. Plus rice pilaf and fresh green beans from the garden.

I think I will reach in to my freezer and pull out a home made TV dinner... and just eat what I grab.

Still need to go to the grocery store.... maybe tomorrow? :)

Absolutely gorgeous day today. We picked 3 more baskets of strawberries.

Grilled pork chops and potatoes, Asian coleslaw, and strawberries and watermelon for dessert

Our Wine and Dine group did a brunch today. We went to the hosts house and had champagne and bloody Mary's, jumbo shrimp, assorted cheeses and fruit, onion sandwich canapés, crab salad on spoons and mozzarella sticks rolled with assorted meats. After that, we could have passed on brunch but had reservations at a restaurant. I had eggs Benedict over crab cakes and sausage rounds. I picked off the eggs and ate them with the muffin but brought home the crab cake on sausage. That will be tomorrow night's meal. I am not hungry for dinnerâ¦.ate enough food for the day! Might have a small dish of frozen yogurt around 9:00.

I'll be making cod, steamed carrots, and garlic herb mashed potatoes.

made a breaded chicken, then a pouch of black beans, with quinoa and a few veggies..made too much but that veggie mix is so good! I have strawberries but that will wait til tomorrow....

No cooking for me today. I got a sandwich from Burger King. Then had strawberries and milk over pound cake.

I hope they have a big sale on pork chops in my area soon. So many people cooking them is making me hungry for them.

I just made Shore Lunch's potato beer cheese soup, and I'm having a sausage patty with it. It's such a huge batch that I hope it will freeze OK. Don't know about a milk based soup.

Glenda-I shop Winn Dixie all the time, but have never tried their deli is it worth the money??? I LOVE the way the guy fixes corn on the cob. Have some in the fridge that I think I will add to my dinner tonight....

Jim-1- I need to get a turkey breast & cook it for the leftovers...the rice pilaf sounds good, but the homegrown green beans sound even better...

OklaMoni- Homemade TV dinner sounds yummy. do you cook it before freezing it so all you have to do is re-heat or do you have to bake it in the oven for a while???

Georgysmom-Sounds like you had a nice time at your get together this morning. And then going out for Brunch seems exciting. I don't really care for Eggs Benedict because I like my yellows cooked. Now a crab cake and piece of sausage sound yummy together.

Phyllis_MN- Does the sausage make it a Shore Lunch?? I love beer,potato cheese soup during football season...Have never tried it during the summer....

We spent the afternoon scouting around Lake Guntersville, checking out different boat ramps, cottage and cabin rentals, etc. We're buying a boat soon and that's where we'll probably use it most of the time.

We ate a late lunch at Top O' The River and had shrimp boil (me) and fried catfish dinner for Robert. Great view of this fabulous lake, but the food......so so. We had heard a lot of hype about it over the years and now I know why. Quantity over quality rules, in the eyes of some.

It was a gorgeous day! We'll sit outside in a little while, sipping a little limoncello with a couple of ginger cookies.

No dinner tonight. My nephew, his wife, their three teens came for lunch. DH grilled small steaks and some pre-marinated ribs that I bought, I made rolls, baked beans, fruit salad and a brownie bar cake (aka Texas sheet cake).
Nice afternoon, they live three hours away and we just see them a few times a year.

Orchid: I don't think I've ever eaten frozen yogurt. I just use plain Fage Greek yogurt and add fresh or canned fruit to it.

I grilled a 20 pound turkey... turned out excellent! We will be eating turkey most of this week. Good, cause I have to work the rest of this week. hahahahah

I tried a new recipe for London Broil in the crock pot. Was so salty I couldn't even choke it down. What a waste!

That's a shame, angelaid! What was the recipe? maybe there's something you can do or add to take up the excess salt?

Angelaid, let me guess.....the recipe called for mulitple packages of some sort of dressing or gravy mix, boullion cubes, cans of soup, etc., lol. I've seen recipes that make me cringe! So sorry....what a waste.

Yep. Packages of dry Italian, Ranch, Onion Soup mix and brown gravy mix. OMG! I am usually guilty of over-salting because the old taste buds are giving out, but I couldn't even eat this. Hubby poured it over hamburger buns and ate it like an open face roast beef sandwich. With lots of unsweetened green iced tea! *shudders*
