Nectarine was a doll that Flamingo made. Nectarine traveled around the United States, Canada and a couple other countries I think. KTers would take photos of her on her travels... I'm pretty sure there was a website for her at one time, but don't know if it still exists.

Nectarine was a doll that was mailed to several KT'ers.
They would keep her for a few days, and take her to the sights in their towns. She's been to parties, and sight-seeing, and they wrote about her travels.
She'd be off to another member and more written. I remember reading a lengthy thread outlining her travels with pictures.
It was hilarious. She was quite a "loose" woman. If I remember, she had flaming red hair and glasses. She had to be mended a few times, through wear and tear.

I'd love to see her story brought to light again. You'd howl with laughter.

I do remember seeing her at the KT at one time. Its been how long? I thought she was a mascot or something. I knew she traveled too. Kinda neat. Does someone have the old webstite for her? I'd Love to see it.

Nectarine was the brain-child of Casey in Nfld and Longtail aka Zeetera. They wanted a mascot doll that we could send around to KT'ers who wanted to take her fun places and photograph her in fun situations. It was a great premise but it took her 4 long years, as I recall, to make her rounds. It was hard to keep her moving and sometimes when she showed up at someone's house, they didn't really have time for her then. She had fun though, hit on a lot of husbands and got in lots of trouble.

Casey kept a website for her until she needed her space back, but she devoted 4 years to her, posting photos and stories. I made her and her outfits and had her come home every now and then so I could clean her up and fix her hair and stuff. All that traveling took its toll, as you can imagine.

Necci is now back home after having been all over North America, UK, Bermuda, Newfoundland, New Zealand and a trip to Germany. She is rested up and enjoying retirement up in my sewing room, where she resides as the supervisor and visits with people who come by.

She was nearly attacked by a shark in FL.

She lost a good game of "Fact or Crap", courtesy of Disaronno.

And now she has the guest room mostly to herself. She can't sleep downstairs with us. She snores. lol

Oh do I remember the tales that were told and so much fun. Even though I never had her, she was a delight. Thanks so much for the quick review.

She came to the beautiful central coast of California in December....can't remember the year now and her favorite place to visit was our local winery....Laetitia Winery.
This is a very old wine press they use for making sparkling wine.

She tried to steal Duty Free Money and then got into the liquor cabinet on one of my trips...I swore NEVER to take her anywhere again...

Thanks flamingo, That was such delightful story. I remember seeing her in pictures years go when I first came here. She is a real looker! No wonder she got into so much trouble. I would still like to see the website if you have it. How old is she?

The website was dissolved, Joann, it is no more.

Gosh, I'd have to go dig up paperwork to find out when she was made. I know she hit the road just after Valentine's Day and she watched a Super Bowl with us.... I think it was 2002. She got home in 06, I think.

When she came to my house, she spotted former President Andrew Jackson, and the hussy hit on him. Unfortunately, his wife, Rachel, walked in on them.

After the scuffle, Neccie sat down to sort thru invites to other KT homes, and I shipped her off the next day.

I recently cleaned up my old computer, and found lots of pictures from Neccie's KT travels. I'd be happy to share them, but not computer savvy enough to create a website. Any suggestions?

I have all the pictures, etc., but can't figure how to send them to Joann. I tried, but she couldn't open them I had inadvertently deleted Casey's, so just sent it on with Picasa,, and she could open that one, but could not open the folders I sent of the rest. Sending all of the Picasa ones would be huge. Have I quoted this correctly, Joann?

All of Flamingo's pictures and stories were so funny. I think the most fun was when Neccy visited Murphy in Washington State She stole money from a cash register and the police caught her and had her handcuffed and leaning against their patrol car. She was put in jail. And she wanted us to send money to bail her out. She was released and turned into a Nun. She was standing outside the church with her nun clothing on and she was struck by lightening. It was hilarious.

Oh no Flamey, until Joann posted, I had no idea that fun site Casey setup for Necci and all of us didn't exist any longer...how sad. :(

OMG! That must have been when I was a Lurker, but I remember her because I was confused. LOL!

Oh so funny, and I love the photos. I remember Nectarine, that she was very very bad, and she had a taste for liquor and married men.

I took her shopping & she ran away & I found her in a beer cooler! She gave me lots of trouble for a few days, but I'd sure welcome her back! LOL T'was a great time!

Oh my gosh! I remember going right to the KT every morning when I got to work just to see what would happen to the hussy next. I can't tell you how many times I sprayed that computer screen with coffee; one time my assistant came into my office and asked me what my problem was!! I was laughing so hard and so loud I think he thought I had finally went off my rocker!! LOL

Those were the days! Lots of laughter and some of the funniest posts I can remember. Its amazing that I wasn't busted by my boss! Such good memories indeed!!
