Got some bad news

But it could be worse. I have cancer. That sure is hard to say. But it is what it is. It is around the area of my right tonsil and upper right soft palate. It hasn't spread and there's no sign in my lymph nodes or glands. The prognosis, at least in my thinking, is very good, but the doctors are cautious, of course.

For all the years I've been at KT I've thought and prayed for those who had cancer and admired them mainly for their strength. I wondered how I would fare under their circumstances. Well, I guess I now know.

Last week, starting Tuesday I saw four specialists (one of them twice), had a PET scan and I biopsy. It was a busy week of doctors. :-)

I have my first chemo tomorrow followed by radiation twice a day for ever how long it takes to get rid of it. The chemo they will give me doesn't cause hair loss, but the radiation will in that area. Oh well, small problem.

Just wanted to let my KT friends know and would appreciate your prayers and good thoughts. And if you have any good ideas for soft or liquid foods I'll be able to eat, I'd appreciate that, too.
