It might depend on your browser, but I just hit Ctrl and the plus sign (+) on my keyboard. This works for Chrome, and I think it worked for Firefox when I used to use that. To make the type smaller, use Ctrl with the hyphen (-).

I don't know about your computer but mine at the bottom of the screen on the right where the time and date appear, just above that is the percentage of the type size and mine right now is at 150%. There is an arrow to adjust it.

A sudden change in eye sight with a fogginess or looks like looking through a screen door can mean a problem with the retina like detached retina or bleeding into the vitreous liquid.
in any case should be an immediate check. Is he seeing any type of flashes or sparks of light?

I agree with raven about the detached retina. Cataracts occur gradually and do not cause sudden vision problems.

Alisande, he does use Ctrl and the + to increase the size. He's finding it difficult to read, or it has to be so big the writing runs off the pages.

We use Chrome Raven, not FF, and work (we work on the computers from home in the evenings) require us to use Chrome.

He got on the work site to see if he could read it comfortably in order to work, and he can't. He's taking the nite off, and in all likelihood tomorrow as well, until we see the optometrist on Friday.

Did the person making the appointment realize his change in vision was sudden? I'd like to see that app't changed to this afternoon....

It might be better to get an appointment with an ophthalmologist rather than an optometrist.

Our optometrist makes the referral to an opthatmologist. I hope the wait isn't too long. There are only 2 in our city, and they are very busy!

No squint is a wonderful ad on. It resizes fonts, puts on color background so the page is not stark white. I have fun with the colors. This is my home page.

Something very similar happened to me and it happened very quickly. Out of the blue it was like my left eye was looking thru white fog, or white clouds/cotton/gauze. I immediately made an appt. with an ophthalmologist who then immediately referred me to a Retina Specialist. This all happened within one week!

I was dx'd with CRVO--Central Retinal Vein Occlusion. the central vein burst. My eye will never get better, but they are trying to keep it from getting worse thru injections in the eye. (Sounds awful, but it's not bad at all--eye is numbed up & all is better a few hours latter)

This quickly put an end to my employment as a phlebotomist-- no one wants their blood taken from someone who can't see veins or read the fine print tubes--lol

The Retina Specialist also wanted me to see my Main Internal Med. Dr. to try to determine the cause--because he said it was highly unusual to have this happen in a "younger" person. HA! I was 59.

Anyway after having a battery of blood tests, nothing was conclusive, but Dr. now has me on BP medicine, which has helped with the edema in the retina.
I hope the Dr's. get to the bottom of his sudden vision problems, but I do hope you get in asap.

Hubby is downloading FireFox, and AVG is catching all kinds of bugs and viruses. Hmmmmmm I wouldn't think that would be normal! He's hesitant on going further.

Do you think he should just "pause" the AVG while he's installing FF?

CTRL + mouse wheel is the easiest. On Google, your top bar has "view". Click that, and select text size.

You can get all kinds of problems downloading anything from an unsafe site. I use filehippo.com or bleeping computers. There is a search site at the top of the site where you type in what you want. Always watch for checked boxes to download other things.

My Sis said she saw bugs in her eyes and just laughed about it. When she told her son that he took to an eye doctor right away. It was a detached retina.

holy crap he doesn't need a monitor that big OF. It's already a large flat-screen monitor on his desk! It's plenty big enough.

I used FF for years and recently changed to Chrome and am much happier.
I hope nothing serious is wrong with your hubby's eyes.
